Good morning everyone! Sending you all IP power! Its a gorgeous day started here on the east coast. Planning on getting some house work done, then out on the motorcycle with hubby in the afternoon.

I know there were few peeps who had surgery on their shoulders, I am heading that way, mri showed a torn labrum, appt with the ortho on Wed. Any words of wisdom? I have to put surg off for a month, work issues. grrrrrr Has anyone had a steroid injection providing pain relief just temporarily?

Good Luck Sonolady...I hope you get on track quickly. What caused this? Turning or moving patients?

No Rxs for me..my problem is what they call "mechanical"...and I'm still hanging upside down emotionally! More godawful testing at the hospital on Tuesday will hopefully return info the event over laborday was a fluke...or confirm the weird diagnosis. Then I'll want a few more Drs to tell me it's so before submitting to the radical surgical fix being recommended.

You..GET well soon and come back strong!

I had a steroid injection in my big toe years ago. The injection hurt worse than the pain. Now i have arthritis in the same spot and the orthopedic dr. says its caused by steroid injections. :/

Lisa and 65x65

Thanks, I have had cortisone injections in tendons for tendonitis, I just cant wrap my head around the relief from a complete tear? There is no inflammation I guess I'll see what the ortho says.

I'm not sure how it happened, I dont remember a traumatic injury. I think its more chronic, yes job related. Its been bothering me since May just getting worse with limited range of motion. I know you know all about that with your back Lisa.

65x65 Your issue is not a quick or easy fix, I hope to never have to deal with that. It seems that surgery is the only fix, you poor gal! You'll get through the testing, you are strong! Look how far you've come! I'm sure you're going to a Big medical center here on the east coast right?

I had steroid injections in a foot.
I've had surgery on both big toes (at different times)
I'm SUCH a wimp with pain!

I'm learning from my PT to NEVER ignore pain. Prevention (PT) can really work to avoid need for surgery later. This is what is currently happening with my hip/lower back. Avoidance of future surgery. I'm good with the fact that it is time consuming. Certainly MUCH less painful!

I dont know what your exact issue is with hip or back, but when I had a separated SI joint, and bothered by it for years, muscles in spasms and fighting each other to hold femoral head in the socket, the only relief I got and it pretty much has been a permanent fix was acupuncture. PT never helped or lasted for more than a week.

Good Morning ya'll it's raining something fierce here in NOLA. Yuck!
I'm a wimp when it comes to pain as well. I've had several repetitive motions injures in my elbows and hips/knees. Prior to my current job I was a bartender/capitan and pro shop attendant at a golf course. All the twisting and lifting serving then scooping range balls etc ruined me. Preventive PT has saved me a lot of surgery time. I hope everyone is able to find relief and wellness. I've noticed that just getting the first 20 lbs off is helping.

Good morning everyone,

I feel like the prodigal son now, I have very active on this board in 2011 (I cannot believe that 2 years have gone by already). I have tried many times to re-start but never succeeded, nevertheless, I keep on trying and I know that this site has been the best thing ever that helped me through everything.

Many new faces in here, I am not even sure if I will find any of the faces I "know" from when I used to come to this site in 2011, so here is a small introduction of me: my name is Sandra, a small summary of my journey is described in my signature, I hope this time, my re-start would be different from all of my previous re-starts, I really want to succeed, it's much more than enough for me feeling like a failure every time I stop this diet!

So, nice "meeting" you all and thank you in advance for all of your support.

Sandra: Welcome back! I'm so Sorry to hear about your struggles!

I know that many of us can relate to Weightloss struggles and starting and restarting the same diet over and over again. We all know something needs to change when that happens. Otherwise we are continually going to an "empty well," doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results, which is the definition of insanity. I did the same thing with the Atkins plan.

What are your plans for this time to be different?

Good morning: all the posts about PT are food for thought for me. I've had plantar fasciitis in one foot aggravated by starting a statin. Though it is a recurring injury from running prior. I have done multiple cortisone shots (ouch) to no avail. Icing. Stretching. And have been in orthotic shoes all summer. Blech! I am hoping weight loss will help but doc did reco PT and I haven't made the time to go. Seems like I should at least give it a try.

Weigh in today. Scale moved in the right direction. I am happy ... and so grateful for finding IP and this forum.

This weekend my goal is to get over some of emotional fears about this not "sticking" and to take my one-size-too-big pants to donate. Gotta admit, I'm both happy to be able to do it and at the same time feeling like I need to hang on to them a while longer. Crazy!

Happy Saturday!

Edit: It took a couple of tries but finally managed to update ticker and profile correctly.

My plan this time is to just stick to it! IT WORKS! I mean, am I insane not to do it as is or what?! Seriously, it was the best diet I have ever been on! So why not just do it?! And my other plan is to be prepared ALWAYS, by this I mean, always have an extra IP alternative product with me so I wouldn't have any excuse for example if I was away from home, working overtime, etc. Also, this thread has been my power recharging, so I will try to get in here everyday, it will be my "me" time, I already added the site to my favorites on my phone so I can log into it anytime I can.

Again, thank you for all your support.

My dx is nonspecific. There is a LOT of guessing going on, including locked SI joint. An SI joint injection has been suggested more than once. I'm starting to lean in that direction.

I have chronic issues, as well...disk thinning/deterioration, arthritis, bone spurs, but all are in agreement that none of the chronic issues should be causing me the pain I'm having.

I've been getting PT, chiropractic and regular therapeutic massages (not for relaxation-these hurt!). In the last couple weeks I've brought up the topic of acupuncture, as well. I've gotten it in the past with mixed results (good for some pain, not helpful for my chronic, lifelong migraines) so I know what it involves. Thanks so much for sharing your experience!

Acupuncture has been a god send for me in the relief of migraines. I would suggest it to anyone!
