Good Morning, IPeeps!
My ketostick was nice and bright pink last night! Down another pound this morning! Today's challenge will be eating out tonight, but I already have my meal planned because it's our favorite restaurant and I know what's on the menu.
Morning everyone ... I'm about 4 months into the whole IP thing .. down 52 pounds and 30 some inches. Before IP I was a regular exerciser ... cardio and strength training (I was squatting 170 pounds ... boy I miss THAT!). I missed riding my bike more .. and my coach said that I could go ahead and ride but not the 20+ miles that I was doing before .. basically take it easy and have an extra shake/packet on the days I ride. I've ridden 3 times (about 5 miles each time) and have not felt well after each ride. Basically nausea, headache and just a general feeling of exhaustion. I am drinking a shake when I get back from the ride but I'm wondering if it's just more than my body can handle at this point ..
Am I crazy to think this or has anyone else experienced this??

The IP diet is super low in calories, so if you are over-exerting then that is exactly how you would feel, and adding an extra packet (100 calories or so) probably isn't enough. I never did more than a light 1 mile walk (VERY slow, didn't even start breathing heavy) all through Phase 1 and still had to add the extra packet. Biking might just be too much for you at this point.

Thanks Scorbett ... that's what I was afraid of ... I've walked as well and don't feel that way at all when I do so I guess I need to stick with that for now.

The good news is, all of those activities will still be there once the weight is gone, and you will be in MUCH better shape to enjoy them! I'm having so much more fun now with exercise - I'm not self-conscious when I work out or take a class, I'm less uncomfortable on my bike seat, and I'm RUNNING. Totally worth the wait

Planning is key
It is how I start every day now

I completely understand. There is a level of exercise that just helps us feel better (and helps me with pain reduction). A new bike is actually on my shopping list for the summer. A gentle 5-mile bike ride is like a stroll in the park. Have you tried having your extra packet BEFORE? Maybe that would help? Or make it your restricted? Don't forget extra hydration, too (maybe with a little added salt)
You are well within you body being adjusted to Ketosis now so I'd play around with timing and hydration and see if it helps.
Also, how many packets are you having per day? There was some info a while back that the IP manual actually recommends MORE than 3/day for people over a certain weight. I think aidealProteinNewbie shared that info with us.

EXACTLY!!! Exercise does help me feel better!! I'm having 4 packets per day on the days I exercise ... haven't tried having one before so maybe I'll try that once and see what happens. If it doesn't .. the sickness is just not worth the 5 miles on the bike right now ... I'll stick to walking.

You're right they will be there ... I am just not used to the inactivity
Morning everyone!! This should be my first WI today but I am out of town for work, unexpectedly, and my first weigh in will be on day 11. I have NOT cheated but I did use alternatives because I went out of town. I found the alternative products on this forum but I did NOT have my supplements with me. As I hope you can tell I did not know I was going out if town. So very tuff first week... How important are the supplements for loosing weight compared to staying healthy??
My husband has been out of town this week on business, and I didn't realize how much support he gives me when he's home. It's really hard not snacking in the evening when I'm alone. He also cooks on the grill every night for us. I've had to use THE STOVE!!! ugh. He'll be home tomorrow and my support will be back on track. I've still continued to lose this week, which is encouraging.
BYW- has anyone had issues with burping? I've never had a problem in my life, but since IP, I can't stop. What's up with that?
