Ya I like to use crystals or tapatio hot sauce and some of the different walden farms products depending on the wrap like some of the ranch or mayo variations. My favorite thing to do is broil boneless, skinless chicken with a cajun seasoning then put it in a wrap with the hot sauce, wp products and different veggies like lettuce, spinach, tomato, cucumber etc. Remember that since you're having the IP pancakes and chicken (or whatever protein you're using) that you are basically having two of your meals at once so plan the rest of the day accordingly. I usually will skip my afternoon snack on nights that I do things like this.

Hi there, I'm one of the 'restarters' of IP and still kicking myself for not
following the program through when I was doing so great two years ago. When I'm on IP, my husband and daughter eat much better too (mainly our evening meals). I'd like my husband to give IP a try (maybe even with alternatives if he wants). But, he is in police work and has to 'feel' good on the job. What would he/should he do to start so he doesn't feel awful until ketosis kicks in? I'm thinking he'd need at least 4 packets (unrestricted) and maybe extra protein (10-12 instead of 8) split throughout the day. I'll obviously ask my coach but thought it would be good to hear from some of the guys who've made this part of their lives to learn of their thoughts.

I have only been doing this about 9 days but I have never really felt bad. I get a little tired before dinner but you can just do a snack in between lunch and dinner and still have lots of energy. He can even do an extra snack in the beginning until his body transitions. I wouldn't go over the protein limit because that would throw the numbers off. I have never once desired more than 8 oz of protein (at least on this diet). The way to go would be an extra packet.

My DH did not need to lose weight but it appeared to me he was eating too many (good) carbs and not enough protein. Husband's glucose was always at the high ..very high end of normal range. In November he decided to give my way of eating a try..started taking EAS ready to drink or the small cans of tuna along with less fruit for lunch. He feels SOO much better..he was amazed. He also makes a point of eating a small portion protein at breakfast now and not just fruit and cereal or toast.
He is a "lifesaver" blood donor and the last 2 months when they called him the screening showed his hemoglobin went UP (it was at the low end for a male prior) and his glucose has now dropped from 115-117 to mid 90s! ...oh and he lost 6 lbs.

Point: Give him small individual profile packs or cans of tuna, HB eggs and RTD EAS shakes to go.....that may start the process! Most men get enough carbs!!!

Sarah! Thanks! I use these and apple pie is awesome. My wife likes the double chocolate chip. These are about the best bars on the market. We buy the entire pack at a time from vitamin shoppe and rack up points and coupons, but free is the best price! Haha.

I have not tried the apple pie yet. They are so good (I like the cinnamon roll ones). I wonder if GNC does the same kind of program? I love to get coupons (who doesn't!!)

I am having some major fail when it comes to making the pancakes into tortillas. I can't get them to not stick.

Yeah I have done that and used parchment paper and nothing is working. Maybe I need to get some new pans.

I know when I make pancakes with IP and alternative products, I always have to cook on a much lower heat than normal because of the higher protein content. Try lower heat for longer.
