I was thinking 12 more weeks. Then you would be ~phase III on Sept 12.

Well I have a couple of Semi-NSV. Semi because it has to do with my current weight but more to the health aspect than the actual weight aspect.

Checking the naked scale this morning I am at 172. At 172 the Standard BMI Calculator puts me at 24.7 Normal Weight (high end but still "normal"). Personally I never really cared for the BMI aspect because it doesn't factor in a lot of things such as lean muscle, body type, etc., but I'll take "normal" for now.

Second is the Waist to Height Ratio (which I think is closer to accurate) which at 5'10" and 34" waist has me at 48.57 Healthy, Normal, Attractive Weight (I'm finally attractive). http://www.shapefit.com/calculators/...alculator.html for those who haven't tried this calculation before.

I still have at least 7lbs to goal and may even lower it once I get there but I can never say enough about what this diet has done for me. I want to go up to strangers on the street and tell them to try it but so far, luckily, I've restrained myself.

Two weeks to P2 and I'm still loving it!

I don't know...Being on plan since Jan 2nd. My experiance is that I find it hard to stick on pure phase 1 when I exercise to excess. Not only after the brutal workout on Tuesday and Thursdays, but the next day also. I have never stopped doing 'boot-camp' since I started, and I find when I push the limits, I always weigh more the day after. Doing research, they found that tired muscles retain water. P90X looks like more of a brutal workout then I do. Just be prepared to be more hungry then normal and see some weight gains that go away 2 days after the workout. I am with you, walking and light stretching just doesn't cut it for me. I managed (somehow) to give up booze, dairy, fruit, pasta, sugar, and fatty meats, but I could not lower my exercise level to just walking to stretching.

This last 10 is coming off very slow. Summer has finally arrived in the Chicago area. The wife and I are are just shocked at the additional things we can do. After all I am not lugging around 56 pounds that I had just a few months ago. Though I would be lying if I am not dissappointed at these low weekly losses, but we are not even thinking about giving up...

The one thing I love about this diet is the weight has fallen off me being my lazy sloth self!

BUT I am starting to get active again and its all due to this diet! I still have a ways to go but am starting to research what to do once I get closer to goal to gain back some muscle mass and do whatever it takes to keep the heart and blood flow healthy! May even talk with an old high school buddy who is a personal trainer! My thought was a set of weights and a heavy bag in the basement, but will see!

Health guidelines generally state that we should undertake at least 150 minutes of moderate exercise or 20 minutes of vigorous exercise per week in order to stay healthy.

But the new study suggests that just 12 minutes of high-intensity exercise, spread out across three sessions, could be enough to keep us fit and healthy, researchers said.

WK 18 comes to a close and I'm down another 3lbs! Now officially 5lbs from goal and 2 weeks before I start P2. The real conclusion to my story is that even if I don't make goal in 2 weeks I'm keeping at it until I do. P2 is still a weight loss phase even if it's not quite as stringent as P1 so I know prior to reaching P3 I'll be there and maybe beyond. I am constantly amazed by the man in the mirror (thank you Michael Jackson for that) and want to make sure he's around for a long time to come. If that means I do P2 for a month instead of 2 weeks then so be it.

Default Hello from Peru

Just wanted to introduce myself. First post and glad to find this thread. I have been doing IP for a month and a half and down 20 lbs as of today. I am 6'3" and started at 256. My goal was 20 pounds and that was so easy i am thinking of trying for 10 or 15 more. It is really encouraging to have people comment on the weight loss but the majority of the people think i am sick or something. I tell them i am not sick now but felt sick before at 256. I find myself hiding the fact that i am on a "diet". Is this normal? I work in law enforement and around a bunch of "tuff guys" that think diets are for women. That has been the hardest part for me. I have found that i would rather not go to functions rather than deal with them. Anyways, glad to of found this thread. BTW, no coach here in Peru and no official weigh ins. Talk to my coach on the phone once a week and email measurements and weights. Stay the path.

Default New as well

I am tired of being fat. Can't wait to do this. In the past I have lost weight and put it back on. No diets per say, just working out and counting calories. This seems easier. Clear lines. I am eager and inspired by those on this board. I am buying supplies tomorrow, my anniversary, and starting on June 4.

Gringo and Big Mikey welcome aboard! You're making the right decision to be on IP. I've tried about every diet out there and this is the only one that has worked well enough that I'm still going after 18 weeks and can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.

My best advice is to check out some of the recipe threads so you can change things up a bit and it doesn't get too boring. And remember that your tastes will change over the next few weeks. Something you tried early on and hated may taste entirely different next month so don't throw anything out.

You are in the right place! It's not easy, but this actually seems to work without gimmicks. Most of all, you will learn a lot about yourself doing this.

I have lost 15 lbs before without IP and when I was done put 20 on within 6 months.

I haven't gotten off of IP to see if that will be the case, but with other diets I didn't learn anything about the food I ate and my body. I also didn't have a "recovery plan" to reboot yearly like I will with IP.

Welcome and join the party!

Default I'm Back!

Hello Lads!! Nice new thread!

Sorry, for my sudden disappearance! Confession time...

I have to say with the nice weather and all I kinda fell off the wagon and felt myself slipping into my old ways. A week ago I told them at the clinic I was gonna take a week off but they persuaded me to go to P3 which I did but I definitely was cheating! Well my naked WI today was 236 and then was 240 at the clinic!! Well I had an epiphany right there and I didn't bust my a** for 4 months to gain it all back again!!! I'm back on P1 again and working my way toward my original 220lb goal.

It is completely wrong to compare dieting to quitting drinking or smoking but in some ways they are the same. It is so easy to slip and the consequences and old habits come crashing back to you!

Just enjoyed a Wildberry pkg and looking forward to being back on P1!!

Plus...I missed you guys!!

Thought we'd lost you for sure. It was getting kind of lonely around here with GoBears and me being the oldest (actively posting) men. Glad the epiphany took.

I know I have an addictive personality and, I guess fortunately, food has been my only addiction. Once I hit maintenance I'm going to have to work hard not to slip back in to the old ways, which in my case were more convenience than overeating. I took the easy, drive-thru route instead of taking the time to actually cook something that would have been healthier. Combine that with the weight I already had and it was a recipe for disaster. This time around will be more thoughtful.

Welcome Back (as the theme song from Kotter plays in the background)!
