I am shocked and depressed by everything going on around Boston, my hometown. I live on the southcoast now. The suspect they are looking for went to UMASS, Dartmouth, right down the street. The college has been evacuated and the closest hospital is on lockdown. My 18 and 19 year old want to go to the movies in Dartmouth and I am not sure it is a good idea.
Lower heat is better for the chips. I do mine at 300 or 315 degrees for about 15 minutes. They should be green, but it might be a darker green.

Just wanted to say "hi" looking forward to a great weekend and more off. I have twelve days off, as I am coming up on my anniversary with the company and if I didn't use them I would lose the! I don't plan on going anywhere as the weather has been crazy but I do think I am gonna spend the night in a local hotel that has a nice hot tub so I can just 'soak' lol either that or get a massage.

I hope everyone has a great day and my prayers go out to those in Boston and Texas. . . ohh Jen I would do what I could to try to keep my 'babies' at home this weekend if I lived there near you. Perhaps suggest a movie marathon at home? Good luck

IP works!!

My pre IP blood sugars were out of control. I've had Type II Diabetes for 6+ years with a laundry list of complications. I was sick and tired of feeling sick and tired. I was told that IP would bring things back into line and help me be drug free. I was skeptical. Today I had a huge breakthrough. One month ago today my morning # was 263. This morning after an hour of intense physical therapy and an extra IP packet it was 145! Better yet, 2 hours after lunch I had a 117. I cannot tell you what numbers like that mean to me.

I am doing a happy dance!!!!

Thanks again for all of the insights & support here!

Happy Friday all...
Stephanoodle- my home scale weighed me at 5 pounds more than the one at my clinic (which is like the one at dr.'s office's) and it would give me a different reading every time I stepped on it. My husband kindly bought me a fancy new one (I think he was a bit tired of my hysterics when I stepped on it ). If you are a home weigher definitely invest in a decent scale... The price is well worth your sanity...
Canic- It is amazing how much better one looks in clothes that fit. And as we lose it helps that the clothes that fit are in a size that is more mentally acceptable. When one is heavier and trying to convince themselves they're not so heavy there is tendency to stuff oneself into a size or two down. Funny how the number on the jeans is more important than the fit But there is a lot to be said on this diet for trying on clothes that are a bit small... because it is simply amazing how quickly those too small items become just right. And the motivation to fit into them and the joy when they do fit can be just as much if not more rewarding than what the scale has to offer...
My first time around I went to the store and tried on a pair of jeans a size down and the initial week they would obviously be too tight, the next week they would be a bit tight and the next week they would fit. The week following that there would be extra room and it was time to try the next size down. Trying without buying is fun on Ip
It is a cold and cloudy day here with the same forecasted for this weekend but next week is slated to be quite warm (finally!!). I think being able to get outside and do some yard work will alleviate the food preoccupation I have going on. It's amazing how a little vitamin d and keeping busy can help out...

I knew something was off since I had lost only 2 pounds in the last month while staying OP. Boy do we know our own bodies.

Did speak at length about IP and the diet. He questionned me extensively and gave me 2 thumbs up about the whole process. I was glad about the whole thing.

Hoping to see a difference then in the next weeks as I get use to the new doses.

My heart goes out to Boston and Texas. Sending prayers to everyone.

Have a great weekend!
That's encouraging that the doc wanted to know about IP, sounds like you're on the right track!! Hey, before IP, I would feel like I was starving myself and GAIN weight, so any loss is a good loss!

Prayers out to all the people n the Boston and West areas....

on another note, a minor perk I didn't realize from IP... my little picky eaters, who mostly want chips and junk, are now swiping my vegetables right and left! " Mom, can you cut up more yellow peppers?" a nice little perk ( except when I am ready to munch and find that my veggie stash is gone...)

Jen I am a faculty member at UMD and was teaching when campus was closed. I left at that point to be home my family (before the evacuation). It is something I never thought I would see at UMD. The rest of the town seems pretty "normal" but I am staying put. I wish you and your family well.

Congrats! It's amazing how much improvement is possible in such a short time.

Bought some new clothes today. A pair of white capris size 8, and a dress. I gave my husband a fashion show tonight, he is so proud of me.

On the IP board, I've seen comments from people with PCOS, who are now seeing their cycle return or regulate (due to IP protocol).

I seem to have the opposite problem. Despite having PCOS, my cycle was normal prior to IP, and now has become irregular. Has anyone else had this experience?

Down 2 more pounds! And on top of that I tried on some snug jeans (just 2 weeks ago) that are now too loose!

I had a very regular cycle pre-IP even though that regularity was 21 days, not 28 as a 'normal' person.

Since going on IP I have no idea when it's going to show up. 2 weeks, 4 weeks, and last month I had spotting forever... So yeah, I'm with you. (Yes, I have PCOS) I'm assuming this will all work out in the end. I know the last time I lost huge amounts of weight, eventually my cycle did get back to normal for a while. Here's hoping.
