I went for my 3 month Dr appt today and she was very happy with my progress. As a result, I'm stopping my thyroid and Metformin medicines and reducing my cholesterol med by half. I'm so happy about this with only 23 lbs lost in almost 9 weeks. My blood pressure was 110/80 which is great. My next big step is reducing my bp med dosage but that will have to wait until my next appointment. I'm now officially NOT a type 2 diabetic anymore. Couldn't be more excited.

Thanks greatlakes and Lisa. I can't believe how much can be accomplished on IP in such a short time frame. Today was a great motivator to keep going. What else can I accomplish? We shall see....

Congrats to a healthier you. That's awesome!
It is a snow day. My 7 yr old bday girl gotta stay home with mom. We have 30 inches of snow in our back and it is still coming! With the 3 kiddos home I seem hungry! Told my son not to eat those Doritos around me! Drinkin lots of water. Makin snow forts. Savin my restricted bar for cake time tonight. Worked well last night for hubby's bday. But think would it be bad if I ate an extra packet of unrestricted item? All the shoveling etc I'm hungry. Water water water!

Must be something going around for everyone, after reading yesterday's chat, I too seem to be unsually hungry these last two weeks... Wonder what is in the air. Have been eating almost two heads of romaine lettuce every single day and sometimes a 4th pack (jello) just to get me through... hummm.

Happy wednesday everyone.
Good to know!!!

I am loving frozen tilapia fillets lately. 2 of them are roughly 6 oz of protein which leaves me with an enough wiggle room to throw an egg into a pudding pancake as my bedtime snack.

I cover a pan in foil, heat the oven to 400, spray the foil with olive oil, put the frozen fillets on the pan and season with Old Bay (the regular Old Bay is starch free). Then I throw on some frozen veggies (usually cauliflower) and season those with RealSalt season salt and some garlic powder and paprika. Bake it for about 25 minutes. I test the fish with a fork in the thicker parts to make sure it flakes nicely. Easy and YUM.
I want to try that! When I can get my car out of the driveway lol I'm getting a bag of tilapia. And just the thought of 2 fillets and not one is awesome! And an EGG! Seems like a lot! I don't know what old bay is? Will I find it with seasonings?

meinvt, I will work on the samoa approximation.

Funky Monkey, you should find Old Bay either with the seasonings, or sometimes it is on a display stand near where the fresh seafood or the frozen seafood is. I had a hard time finding it at first in my grocery store. It is a yellow metal container with a red lid. Buy the regular kind...there's a Garlic/Herb flavored one that has some starch in it.

You should definitely have an extra non-restricted if you have been shoveling snow.
