Default Day 1 down - Headache!

Hi all! I am on day 2 of IP and have a major headache. I did as my coach advised and dissolved natural sea salt in water and drank it.. 30 minutes later the headache was worse Had to break down and take 2 migraine relief capsules before it spun out of control. Little better now, but still an ache. Any suggestions from anyone with this experience? Thanks!

Hopefully you can get lots of rest today and tomorrow..by Mon you should be much better.
Nothing wrong with taking headache medicine if it helps.
Stick with it..you will be amazed at how easy it gets!

Make sure you are taking all the supplements. A deficiency can cause the headaches. I ate something when I would get them. Take a meal replacement and eat 25% of it and see if that helps. I had headaches off and on for the first 4 days then they went away. Best of luck and know how much better you will feel afterwards.

Thanks I started the plan on a Friday purposefully so I wouldn't feel awful at work, and would be able to lie down if needed! Glad I did now.

BTW... how do I make a signature on here? I must be missing something obvious. LOL

To get the weight loss signature you have to post 20x and have been a member for 20 days, I think.

A few of us on here drank a bottle of the Powerade Zeros each day to help combat with headaches.

My IP coach is also my chiropractor so fortunately I just go and get an adjustment to alleviate my headaches.

Also an ice pack directly to the back of the head (at the suboccipital space or the "soft spot") will reduce any headache as well as massaging that space as well to bring more blood flow and oxygen to the area.

A lot of it has to do with electrolyte balance and hormone balancing. So stay hydrated, try the Powerade Zeros or Mio Fit for your water and be patient with the process. It does get better!

I woke up today (day 3 optifast) with a headache. Just kind of a dull pain in the back of my head. Why is this considered normal?

Sorry, but aside from making sure you are taking all the supplements, getting enough water, and doing the salt thing, you may just have to suffer thru it. From what I have heard, it's just your body getting rid of all the bad stuff. I finally woke up without a headache my 5th day on the plan. Stick with it, it gets better! 60 pounds later, a few headaches were a small price to pay. Good luck, hope your headaches pass soon!

Not that it was that long ago but I remember the headache and just generally feeling awful for the first 3-4 days. Then like a switch was flipped everything improved and I returned to feeling normal. As has been mentioned you might just have to suffer/power through it.

I took the salt straight, just put a little in my plam and ate it lol... it helped dull the headache but still had a bit of one. Couple days I did take something for it (half of what I normally would take) and it was gone by week 2!

On my second day I was feeling awful, with a pounding headache and dizziness. But I ate some salt which I washed down with seltzer, and then took 2 Excedrine Migraine pills. After about 30 minutes I was feeling fine, and haven't had any problems since!
