I, too, started taking the biotin suppliment from the beginning 5 months ago. Manly because I was concerned about loose skin at the age of sixty. I have not notice any hair loss.

I have lost 28 pounds.

No hair loss for me! Lost 4 #/wk for 2 weeks, then 3#/wk for months.

Ping on 3 months and I'm losing less hair than before IP. My hair isn't getting oily either...I'm sure it won't last after IP, but I wish it would! My skin is also really clear and healthy - but I bruise super easy though.

I had quite a bit of hair loss around month 4. It only lasted a couple of weeks, it was noticeable as my hairdresser commented on the amount in the sink. The good news is that it quit after a couple of weeks.

I've been on IP for 8 months and haven't had any hair loss, BUT, the texture of my hair has changed somewhat and I had to turn down the heat on my flat iron as it would singe off the edges if it was too hot. I take synthroid for my hypothyroidism and my coach gave me an IP handout about this being common for women over 40 who take synthroid and are on IP. The handout suggested using the cool switch on your hair dryer and not turning up the straightener or curling iron too hot. I did this and my hair doesn't singe off anymore.

Over 6 months for me with no hair loss. I use a hairdryer and straightener every day and have healthy hair.

How much Biotin per day does everyone suggest to take?

I haven't had any hair loss after 11 weeks, but I started getting concerned after all the talk of hair loss here so after about a month on the protocol I decided to start taking Biotin. I had tried 2000mcg of Biotin pre-IP as my nails are soft and I'd been loosing more hair than I'd like, but it didn't seem to make any difference so I stopped. Remembering that, and the fact that Biotin is water-soluble (you excrete whatever your body doesn't need), I bought a super Biotin this time that's 7500mcg, and I take it once a day. My nails are still soft, but my hair looks fuller and thicker... and as I said, no loss (knock on wood...)

Interesting

At my WI, was asking coach about the new P1 sheet and we discussed several items. Somehow Biotin came up.

IP does NOT recommend adding Biotin as a supplement b/c it stalls some people.

Just thought I'd mention it.

I have been at this since later Sept with no hair loss. I stick as closely as I can to the sheet as I can ( I do alternatives and real food)
I have great skin, hair and my nails have gain strength since starting this program.
