Fruit Teas

I know teas are ok on the diet, and about drinking extra water for the caffeine and all of that.

But what about fruit teas? Or the tea that is dried that you put in the little tea ball. Is that ok? Sometimes I've seen fancy flavors that will say "caramel" or something else sweet in the name. Any idea if those are safe?

I only use the flavored teas once I can verify that they are 0/0/0. Most are but I have found a few that are not. You will most likely be able to tell if it has sugar in it when you taste it but you wont know about the carbs etc Try googling it and see what results you get for nutritional info

I have asked a similar question like this in the past because I recently bought a lot of expensive tea from Teavana. The only option for tea while on IP is only HERBAL tea.

Thanks! I'm looking to buy some of those fancy teas and I want to make sure it's something that I can have.

Unless they put additives in the tea you CAN have fruit teas. Fruit teas are for our intents and purposes the same as herbal teas. It is the equivalent of using orange or lemon zest in your cooking - you are not getting any of the juice, fibers or sugars from the fruit because they are dried, just the flavor essences.

Good to know! Thanks Scorbett! :)
