My fitness pal

I see lots of post about my fitness pal- I signed up but really kind wondering what all it can do - besides a journal for food which I already keep just wondering what others use it for - sorry if there is a thread about this I tried searching but I could find anything

Support. I like to see what others are eating. I'm there!! Link up with me!

The food tracker is 90% of why I use it - having the ability to track my meals is going to be the key to success in maintenance. I don't *need* to track on phase 1, but now I'm in the habit so it won't be something I have to add on when I'm learning how to eat in P3 and beyond. It also tracks activity/exercise.

I prefer MFP to a written food journal because it has a smartphone app - so I have it on me at all times, and can log my meals in right away - it keeps me on track!

I have been using it more now in maintenance and I do like it.

I started using it for the food tracker but now use it only to keep track of my measurements and weight lol.

If anyone wants to link up with me I am Calisto7 on there.

I used it years ago when I was on Weight Watchers and plan on using it more once I get to phase 3 and start working out!

Me, too. You can change the goal settings to comply with the IP calorie, fat and carb limits. It also has all of the IP foods in the database. As you enter foods in the diary, it allows you to name and save a meal, so you can easily enter your favorite meals in the future.

I am on there to its kaytlynnmainprize. I like to track what I am doing to make a habit :-) as well the weightloss graph is super motivating!

I created a account I'm nadinemckenzie98 -- not 100% sure how to add friends yet - I always do find my self with out journal at times so this will be handy

May be a stupid question - but what is the max intake we should be eating each day ?

I set mine at 1000 calories, and I set my goals to be 45% protein, 40% fat and 15% carbs. That roughly puts my daily intake goals at 113g protein, and 50g carbs (that's not net carbs, just straight carbs - so it ends up being closer to 30 when you subtract the dietary fiber).

I am also using MFP to track my intake, measurements, and weight. Plan to keep using it in maintenance to keep myself accountable. Love that I can access it though both my smartphone and laptop.

My user name on MFP is the same as here...pocahontas812.

I am on MFP - Psycht12 - how do you add people? I tried to figure it out the other day but failed :-P

If you know someone's user name:

Click on the 'Community' tab (far right), then click on 'Find members'. Enter the user name in the 'Username or Email' box, then click 'Search'. Note--you can leave all the other search fields blank.

Once the user's profile shows up, click on 'Add as friend'. You can include a short message in your friend request if you want. As many people have different MFP user names, I think it's helpful to identify yourself as an IP'er from 3FC.

I have MFP set like Scorbett's and use it every day. I really like the use of the App's on my iPhone and iPad. Getting the see the charts of the daily intake is also helpful for me. When I was still seeing my coach, it was really easy to print out all the days and she could see exactly when I had something and what I was putting into my mouth. I set mine up with times of the day instead of the usual "meals" in the default. If anyone is interested in following me I'm "lglAustin"
