  • I dont weigh in until Wednesday but I thought i'd step on the scale today just to see. According to my scale, there was no movement this week. I have been 100%. Now, I know its not the same scale (and to be fair, my husband thinks our scale is 'off' and I'm two days early) but has this happened to you? Have you ever been 100% and not lost? What are the reasons its happens?
  • YES, dont give up, its your body readjusting to what you have loss already
  • Yes it's happened to many of us. I WI almost daily at home and the numbers go up and down, if it bothers you don't just do it once a week. I don't have a digital scale either so I don't notice things quite as much. It is a frustrating journey but stick with it.

Oh, yes, this happens to me all the time. I try not to step on the scale at all during the week, but I do, and generally I've either gained or it's right on mark. It has me shaking my head, but then two days later on weigh in, I'm down a few pounds.

I am 100%. I've always had a loss (so far), cross fingers, but there are many who haven't or who have in fact gained in a week (due to many factors -- TOM, BM's, exercising too much, etc.).

As many will say (Wuv ), just trust the IP diet, and stay off the scale if it bothers you. I need to heed that advice.
  • It's a different scale...have you calibrated it against your coaches? If not, I would personally totally disregard it then. I know my scale at home is always 2lbs lower than what my coaches scale is...how do your clothes fit? How do you feel? To me those things are more important than a number on a scale anyway!
  • Happened to me All. The. Time. Your weightloss is not going to be linear, it is notoriously 'stair step', so if you can't handle a few days of no losses then STAY OFF THE SCALE.

Just fyi, I had an 11-12 day streak of no loss followed by a 5lb whoosh-a-thon over 2 days.

Admittedly I was a home weigher, but I was never emotional over the number and knew that I was 100% and had total faith that the weight would come off if I stuck to the plan...AND IT DID!

Dont worry about it! I weigh daily but mine is about accountability. Some days I am down others I am up. Today I was up 1.4 lbs. If it isn't off by WI , oh well. It will come off next time or the time after that.
  • The one thing I learned about IP is to trust the program...as long as you follow it it will work. Changes can and will fluctuate. Hang in there and no you're not the only one having ups and downs.

    You're doing great! Keep going!!!
  • happens to me all the time! I tend to drop the day of my weigh in. It works! It always does!
  • I am not trying to encourage daily weighing, but I did find an interesting free android ap called Libra. What it does is take the numbers you input (daily, weekly, whatever) and creates a trend line that looks a lot like a candlestick graph you might have seen used to show stock fluctuations.

What you know in your head is happening when the scale stalls and you are 100% is that there is water balancing going on among the lost fat and remaining minisucle glycogen stores; your heart is just ticked off because you aren't losing linearly.

So the ap follows a trend based on the last 7 days (or whatever you set) of weigh ins and makes a lovely graph showing the downward slope of your weightloss journey (or the pound range fluctuation of your maintenance life path).

Really cool for people that like graphs and charts.

It also gives a kind of estimate of the calories deficit (or excess) you are maintaining based on the 3500 calories/pound model. That part isn't IP pertinent, but interesting nonetheless.
  • Thank you guys. I feel better. You're all so incredible.

WOW! that is so cool!!!! I am constantly fascinated by how my body balances itself

Well said! Spoken like a true New Englander!
  • You were all right! There was a loss, a rather big one. I'm not getting on that other scale ever again. LOL
  • Yeah, I don't know why some of us insist upon torturing ourselves by getting on the scale every day -- rather than just once a week. (Some of us, myself included, weigh in multiple times a day!). But we do it anyway! I quickly came to the realization that my weight was going to fluctuate during the week, so I stopped panicking after the first time it happened. I guess I'm too curious to let a week go by without weighing in.
