That's my body, most of my remaining pounds are in the tummy area. Doing six week six pack by Jillian michaels.

Holly - I have had a csection and then a v back from twins. I have seen women with flat abs on myfitnesspal so we surely have hope.

I have started lifting as well. Working on abs everyday, triceps every other day and doing a body for life run for 20 minutes every other day.

How exactly does one do squats?

I think a mix of genetics and diet, although I do exercise a lot.
Even after 2 c sections my abs are flat and strong.

Encouraging.

Looked up squats, glad to hear they help with abs, I have lost a bunch of weight from my back side, I think squats will help with abs and a more rounded rear.

Thank you all.

The rounded rear. That's exactly why I want to get back into squats. It really does nice things to legs too.

Exactly correct. Consider a Sumo wrestler or NFL lineman. They have stronger core muscles than 99.99% of the human population but they don't have "flat abs" because they have too much fat.

Then consider a young woman who is very thin and never exercised beyond walking. She could have "flat abs" because she is thin.

Genetics determine where you cary your fat and no amount of planks is going to change that. Most men carry their fat around their bellys, most women their hips and thighs. Obviously there are many variations.
