some people just are plain rude.

  • hello everyone - so today i had a work dinner function to which was nicely planned to a restaurant that is IP friendly - well upon arrival my order intention was to order the steak to be told my the rude waitress we no longer have steak, so i said i have salmon sorry we don't have that either they had chicken but it was all breaded so i asked for non breaded chicken and she said sorry mam we only have breaded chicken inless you order a chicken ceaser salad -- so i asked for a ceaser salad no dressing and said nope we cant do that either -- so i then asked to speak to the manager who was alot nicer and explained that they only do grilled chicken with ceaser salad but he would have the kitchen wip something up for me i also explained to him i would be using my own dressing in which he was ok with-- well the waitress brought the food and seen my dressings and took it and sorry mam no outside food or drinks allowed - i was shocked! my boss is very supportive of me and being on IP he had did research and thought this resturant would be ok well it was till they didnt have steak or salmon like the menu said.

i still couldn't belive she took my dressings from the table from me i was shocked even after i got manager approval!

sorry to rant but it just was a horrid experince its hard enough going out on IP this just didnt help =(
  • I hope you got the dressings back before you left, otherwise I would be sending the manager a bill for them, it's not like they're cheap! I also hope you spoke to the manager after she did that - if not I would call the general manager of the restaurant tomorrow and let them know what happened, especially the NAME of the server you had. That kind of behavior is out of line in ANY circumstance.
  • no i didn't get my dressing back i asked the manager who was verryyy nice and he said he couldnt find it was only the individual pack i pick them up for 49c a pack but that adds up very fast IP is expensive enough - my meal was free complements of the manager and i am normally a 20% tipper well she got no tip today and i was given the owners contact information from the manager as we where leaving -
  • That was rude of her. I probably would have left.
    Sorry about that dear ;c
  • I would put together an email and send it off the to owners. She should not have taken your personal belongings. That's stealing! You can't take someone's personal belongings regardless. What they did is beyond rude.
  • That is horrible! They would be getting an email or call from me!
  • Wow! Strangest story I have heard in a while. When you call, tell them you are about to do a review on Trip advisor. That will get their attention.
  • The joke's on her, because it's hard enough as is to get decent tips. She's just screwing herself over big time by treating customers like that!
  • bad waitress
Better yet, call your local Better Business Bureau
  • This is horrible !!! I am sorry you had to go through this !
  • that's beyond unacceptable! my husband used to be a server, and it's common knowledge that you bend over backwards to please your guests even if they're being unreasonable (which you totally weren't) I agree with the others- call the restaurant and speak the the manager, that waitress needs to get ripped a new one!
  • I understand it is not her fault if they no longer have certain items, but she should have volunteered to speak with the kitchen and manager to see if they could find a dish to suit your needs. And taking your dressings...that is crazy.
  • She probably isn't making much money as a waitress with that attitude.

    +1

I'd also be writing reviews of the restaurant and its wait staff on Trip Advisor, Yelp, Open Table, and any other place I could to let people know the restaurant isn't particularly diet friendly (putting that lightly!) and that the wait staff is beyond rude and disrespectful.
  • She was just following rules. How is it her fault the kitchen is out of items? It also is a health code violation in many areas to bring outside food into a restaurant.
I'm sure you weren't the most pleasant person after they were out of steak (not the waitresses fault)
Have any of you waited tables before?

If the manager approved your dressing HE should have told the wait staff.
