Morning all! Friday at work everyone goes out to lunch together. I missed last Friday because I just started IP but I don't want to keep missing Friday lunches with everyone. Any tips?

Good Morning,

I am really glad I found this forum. It is my first time joining something like this and I am already finding it very useful.

I will find the weekends challenging, not because of cravings or feeling like I am missing out, but because those are the days I don't usually eat three squares a day. I like to be lazy so I only usually eat lunch and supper. But maybe it's a good thing because it will motivate me to get up early enough for breakfast and to not waste the days away

I am running a 10K on Sunday, and by "running" I mean walking with intermittent busts of running It will be my third year participating, and I haven't made it to the actually running stage yet, but I have a love/hate relationship with running.

I'm wondering if I should eat before I run? In the previous two years I haven't because I've been too nervous to, but where I have drastically decreased my calorie intake I wonder if it would be better for me if I did. I think this day I will also add an extra IP food.

It's Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada, so to my fellow Canadians, enjoy the long weekend and everyone else have a great weekend.

Good Morning,

Maybe you can just have a plain salad and bring your own dressing, then when you get back to work you can have your IP food back at work? It would depend on what is allowed at your place of work.

Take a look at the menu ahead of time (most restaurants have them on-line) and plan what you are going to eat. Grilled meats, salad with no dressing (bring your own or just ask for some lemon to use as a dressing). Don't be afraid to ask for changes to what's on the menu to suit you, most restaurants don't mind at all. If worse comes to worse, just order a plain side salad and eat your lunch before you go or after you get back. Eating out can be a little intimidating the first few times but with all the food allergies and different dietary needs out there it's not unusual for diners to be a little picky about how their food is prepared.

Happy Thaksgiving to my fellow Candian IPers

-DetermindDieter - love the name you will for sure meet your goal with that name. Good for you for doing a walk/run 10k. Doesn't matter how fast you go it's great exercise regardless. I would definitely eat before your 10k, runners will recommend that you eat the same breakfast that you train with when you race. I ran thru the last half of P1 and raced the 10 and would drink the mango ready made 1.5 hours before the race and then have a shake or bar after. This would be the extra IP snack so if you had a restricted bar have non restricted snack later in the day. Also be well hydrated.

I'm on maintanance now but am running 18k this morning to prepare for 1/2 marathon so still drank mango ready made but added a bowl of oatmeal with it.

Good luck

Thanks so much, I will be happy just finishing it, and one day I will run it all, and then I will try the half. I'm just glad they are calling for sunshine, I don't mind the coolness of the season, but I run indoors and would be very grumpy if it rains

Good luck to you as well and congratulations on all that you have accomplished!

Happy Friday!!! I have had a good week. Feeling good, this is my 2nd week on IP. Cranky, rude person at work can't get me down today, I'm getting healthy and taking care of myself.

I had to eat on the run last night, tried the grilled chicken salad from Chic-Fil-A but had to pick so many things out of it that I almost wasn't hungry when it came time to eat. Next time a grilled chicken sandwich without the bread and plus the veggies.

Hope everyone has a great day and better weekend!

Hi all, happy Friday!

This week's WI brought me down into the 180s! I lost a bunch of weight a bit over a year ago on WW and I swore up and down that I'd never see the 190s again. Well I did and it was not a happy reunion. So glad we have parted ways again, this time permanently, I hope.

I am working through the Beck Book and also have Refuse to Regain to read after I'm finished with Beck so that I will be better prepared for entering maintenance once I hit my goal this time.

Happy Friday, So glad it is finally here. I have a ton of yard work to do this weekend. It is cooling off here so I can actually enjoy getting it done without feeling like I'm dying of heat stroke. lol My DIL's baby shower is coming in three weeks so it;s time to spruce things up. Carpet cleaning, touch up painting etc.

Kelly, I like your new picture and hair.

Happy Friday Everyone!!!!

WI this morning and I'm down 3.8 lbs!!!! I had a slow loss last week so I guess it caught up this week. Weird that I had a big loss given that I haven't had TOM yet (although I've been dealing with TOM symptoms).

I'm ecstatic!!!! I did move my goal weight back to 135 given that I go off of my clinic scale and my home scale (naked first thing in the morning) is showing 3 lbs less than what my clinic scale reads. So I'm playing a mental battle with myself. I know I should still lose in P2 so I'm picking 135 to phase off when my clinic scale reads that weight.

I have an exciting weekend planned. Going to Mississippi for a college football game!! I had good losses after the last couple that I went to so maybe I'll get a lot of walking and sweating in and continue the trend!

I hope everyone has a great day!!!

Kellyc - I love the hair. I have some electric blue clip ins that I sport when I'm feeling 'frisky'.

It shows up really well with the blonde hair.
