Default Week 2 and a couple Q's

Hello Everyone!
I started IP on 10/05/2012 and lost 7.2lbs at my first weigh in. However, since Friday, the scale has not budged . I currently weigh 165 and would like to loose an additional 15lbs by Thanksgiving. Is that reasonable? I have not cheated and stick to the plan religiously.

Also, did any of you notice that you were more anxious or depressed when you first started the plan? While I have anxiety and depression around TOM, I noticed a surge when I started and it is getting a bit better. However, the first week was **** with the anxiety. I would appreciate any feedback.

The weight loss isnt consistent each day. I know I usually stay the same weight all week then the 2-3 days before weigh in I lose each day. Also during TOM or just before I usually go up a little, which is totally normal.

Don't weigh yourself everyday if you can't deal with the scale not moving or moving in the wrong direction. Stress also can make it harder for you to lose the weight.

The rapid weight loss releases the hormone stores in your fat. This can cause the emotional rollercoaster. For me it went away around week 10.

You will do great as long as you are 100% OP. No cheating and read 100% thread for support!

I've noticed a bit of a pattern with my weightloss. Like you, I had a pretty decent number my first week and then the second week not so much. However my third week I dropped another good sized number. It seems like how the pattern goes, one week high number, next week low number.

If you are following the program 100%, I wouldn't worry about it too much. You're doing everything you're suppose to and who knows, you might get a nice big number next week.

The important factor is the percentage of fat loss. That number might still be dropping even though your total body weight is unchanged.

First, congrats on your first week!

One thing that you SHOULD NOT do if you will obsess about the numbers is weigh every day. You may see the scale at a standstill for days and then POOF on weigh in you'll be missing a few pounds. Until you get into a rhythm with the program, put the scale away and save the weighing for your clinic!

Also, as someone else mentioned the 2nd week can often be a lower loss week when you have a big drop in your first week. Your body has to adjust to the sudden loss. You may actually see a change in your measurements instead of on the scale - it's all normal

And as far as the anxiety/emotions go - when you lose fat you release estrogen into your system. So if those are normal symptoms for your TOM, then they will also show up periodically as you lose weight and let go of the estrogen that was storing in your fat cells.

Good luck!

I don't typically have a change each day... I'll stay the same for 4 or 5 days, then see a bigger loss over night. Everyone is different. It fluctuates!
