I use silpat for my chips, and they come out crunchy. But they do take a looooong time. The dehydrator takes even longer, but i can fill it full and have multiple flavours to last for the next couple weeks!
You got me all excited about the Chipster, but I find it's only available in Canada. I'm so disappointed now. I'm trying to see if there is some equivalent available in the US.

Molly, I haven't tried it for zuchini, but Pampered Chef has a thing to make potato chips in the microwave. I did potato chips pre-IP, and they came out really nice.

Tired of zucchini chips (I do them on one of those microwave chip maker tray things from BedBathAndBeyond). So last night I tried jimica chips both in the oven and on my chip tray thingie. As much as I love zucchini, I love the jimica chips more!!! The oven ones were a fail. Paper thin they burned well before they dried. The microwave chips were a complete success!!! I sprinkled a little garlic powder on some of the batches. Super yum. What a delightful way to have my 2 C of lunch veggies today!!

made these today. trial and error. used a little too much salt.
some of them came out crispy (the ones i was able to get really thin), others were too soft.
i dipped some of them in walden farms ketchup to drown out the salty taste. yum
I've learned now that not all parchment paper is created equal. I was using Reynolds brand and ran out and bought a generic store brand. Things do not release quite as well with the generic brand. I was very disappointed.
Thanks, Molly
I was just in the store last night looking at parchment paper, lamenting the fact that there was no generic avalible and grumbling about the price for 30 ft of Reynolds brand paper. LOL Maybe thats why the box says real parchment paper or something to that affect. Guess I'll buy the pricey stuff. Sounds like it is worth it. Thanks!
