This is an excellent thread.

I learned:
1. that roasting 2-3 trays of vegetables into a food processed mash, provides the basis for a great soup. It ensures I get in my 4 c veggies/day, is incredibly delicious, filling and helps me stay away from unhealthy food.
2. low carb, med-high protein choc shakes are a snack that fuels my metabolism and I can sneak extra veggies into it.
3. Most starches don't really taste that good, it just isn't worth it to go off this protocol.
4. There is a world of low carb alternatives that I will continue to use once I reach my goal (in a month or so). For example, there is a low carb brownie mix that is almost as good as mu usual brand. And to be healthier, feel thin, be able to wear just about anything is more than worth the taste sacrifice.

*bookmarking this awesome thread*

-Not a single one of my skinny friends is skinny because they have magically awesome genes that let them eat as much of anything they want.

-A slice of cake at a birthday party is not the end of the world and doesn't mean you now have to START ALL OVER. Just soldier through; you're living life.

-You'll never succeed at weight-loss (or much of anything) if you don't master the art of getting back up after a fall or 2... or 3... or 30.

Here's what I have learned:

- The real work is maintenance. Losing weight is easy compared to keeping it off
- I will always have to watch my carb intake
- Wheat and I don't mix
- Phase 1 will always be there for you
- All the hard work is worth it
- This is a life long journey. My life has been changed forever.

Use lots of eggs to hold it together (can just be egg whites if you wish) - add extracts to change/cover flavor of the coconut. It SUCKS up liquid like crazy so be generous with water, milk, etc.
