I had actually gotten down to 204 and then plateaued for a quite a while and then this year started gaining some back. So I started IP on 9-11-12 at 235. The pictures on the right is from last week after I got my hair cut.
You look BEAUTIFUL MommaHen! I'm glad to hear your dad is doing so well, too!

Another 2.8 lbs gone after yesterday's weigh in. I didn't think I had lost anything, so gratifying to see that. It looks like a lot of us had a good weigh in this week. Congratulations ladies, couldn't have done it without you.

I have a strange question... When I rice cauliflower, or make mashed potato cauliflower, do I measure out my two cups before or after the ricing/mashing?

Once riced or mashed, it is WAY more than just piling it in the measuring cup.

hello all!

I found this forum searching for information on the Ideal Protein Diet. I am very interested in doing it but the cost is something that is really holding me back. Have people had alot of success with it? Are there any bad/negative things about the diet that you can say? I am looking to lose about 50-60 pounds...about how long would this take?

Thankyou!

I usually measure before ricing/mashing. I know when I do purees 1 cup usually ends up being about 3/4 cup pureed.

Just like a Big Mac, but no bun and no cheese. Yummy

BIG MAC (no cheese) IN A BOWL
1/2 pound raw ground beef, about 5 1/2 ounces cooked weight or 153 grams cooked *
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 teaspoon minced dry onions
46 grams dill pickle slices or 2 dill spears, chopped, about 1 5/8 ounces
2 tablespoons WF Thousand Island Dressing
1 1/2 ounces iceberg lettuce, shredded
Directions:
Brown the ground beef, drain off any fat, season with salt and pepper.. Meanwhile, soak the dry onions in a little water to rehydrate them. Put the meat in a large salad bowl and add the remaining ingredients. Toss and eat at once.

I have only weighed in one time...6 pounds. Previous to the IP diet, I have been putting that 6 pounds on and off forever...or so it seems. I have friends who have had radical success on the IP diet. I am very cost conscience, but I had to consider the costs of medical problems that are bound to affect me at my age of 48. So far, I have been blessed with fairly good health. The other factor that pushed me to do it was my own self confidence. I need that back and this will help. I want to lose 53 pounds. I figure that will take me 18 weeks (give or take).

The day before I started, I was thinking it was too pricey. My friend with the radical success said to me, "You will never regret doing it and being at your goal weight, feeling healthy, and doing fun things with your kids. You will regret if you keep struggling along losing a pound here and a pound there and then gaining it all back." I went with her advice. So glad I did!

Thank you so much everyone.

Today was a good day for my dad...he is home and doing well. My husband and I were actually home and settled in before 7pm. We are experiencing a cold front that has dramatically dropped the temps here today and they are calling for snow tonight. I had to pull out full length pants today...I fit in an old pair of 14. They were tight in the waist, but fit everywhere else. It was great to know I have some pants to wear. Can't wait for them to not be so tight in the waist. WOOO HOOO

If I use only alternatives, I actually spend about the same amount per week on the product and groceries as I spent on groceries previously. I usually use some of the IP products so I do go a little higher. But, since I no longer have alcohol, I figure it is about the same. I am only on my second week, but I was spending about $100/week on groceries and now with alternatives and groceries it is still about that. However, I keep it real simple and don't do any of the fancy recipes (yet). Good luck with your decision

Howdy IPeeps...coming online after a busy day! Sounds like Angies coach is mixing up her meal combos between breakfast and lunch. Breakfast is the same in P3 and P4 and is the only meal where you combine fat & carbs. I would follow the sheet as written.

Heres a link to the page with margarita pudding and lettuce sorbet. I love veggies!

Speaking of which...i need to prep some sorbet purees. I have found ice cube trays and some unsweetened almond milk in my blender comes out with some amazing soft serve!
