Default Talk to me about goal weight

How did you pick yours?

I'm really floundering with what mine should be and I'm looking for guidance. My coach doesn't provide much feedback in this area.

(FWIW, I had tentatively chosen when to start phasing off, but I just found out that I will be out of town for business when Phase 3 would be starting. That seems like a bad idea. But, I'm feeling sad about staying on plan longer, but I will probably regret it if I phase off too soon. And, I've traveled a ton and stayed 100% on plan. This trip was a surprise and it's a fantasy to think about not being on phase I while I travel...pathetic, I know.)

My goal is to get back into my size 14 Levi's. I set my goal weight at 160 but I know that by 175 I will be back in them..at least that's the weight I was the last time I got into them. I'll see how I feel when I get into them. If I want to go lower, i can..if not I'll stop at 175.

I have a problem of every time I lose weight family members start telling me that I look "sick" and should start gaining some back. I'M NOT LISTENING to them this time.

S/C/G: Reboot with 140 as my goal

Height: 5'4"

I picked mine because I think that is what I weighed (135) about 22 years ago. And I am on a downhill slope to 60 and I have friends in their 60's that look FANTASTIC and I want to look as fantastic in my 60's as they do!!

my first coaching appt my coach asked me about what my lowest adult weight and bone structure for guidence in picking my goal weight. I would set my goal lower that what he picked for me as I didn't feel thin when I was that weight then. But I figured it was a starting point and adjustments could be made later. (BTW my ticker shows what I would like my goal NOT what my coach says)

Mine is my lowest high school weight (at age 15, which is almost half my life ago now). I thought I was huge back then (of course) but my build was pretty athletic (I was a thrower on the track team) and I was in great shape.

I might want to go lower when I get there, but for now that's what I've got my eyes on.

I would give yourself the extra travel week on plan. The danger of traveling off plan is that there's just so much room for not-good food. Besides, phase 2 is still very similar, so you wouldn't be missing out much on the travel food experience. Next time it'll all still be there and you'll be in maintenance!

I looked up what would be the ideal weight for my age and height. That's pretty much how I came up with me goal weight of 140. Though I will be happy if I get to 150.

I said i would be happy with 140, and thrilled with 125. The Tavita scale thingy said ideal would be 125, but they told me to ignore it - but WHO CAN IGNORE THAT???

Stopped at 129- and might have been 5 pounds too much - it's not the weight on this diet - its your size. You'll be amazed. Pick a clothing size and work towards that.

BTW - i kept losing in p2 and even a pound in p3. You don't HAVE to overreach, though some people do gain in p3 a bit.

Good luck!

Good point about the size. I'm wearing a 10! Which I never thought I'd see. I just feel so comfortable, but the average weight for my height is still a ways away.

I had wanted 140, but was never able to get below 145. I am large boned and very muscular, but definitely a small or x small top and an easy 6, occasional 4 pant. 145 seems like an acceptable weight.

I picked a weight that was in the middle of the ideal weight range. It was also my weight after my first child and before my second. I knew it would be unrealistic to go to my weight (100) before I had kids. So 125 it is.

I picked mine at the higher end of what is considered a healthy weight for my height and frame size. I would just like for once not to be 'obese' or 'overweight' by the standards. However, I will keep an open mind because it has been quite awhile since I have seen those weights and I might look too wrinkly at this stage of the game!

For me, I picked a number a few points below the top of the normal weight BMI range. It was also the weight before the kid. Taking my time and sticking with it this time! Congrats to all of us!

I wish my coach would give me more guidance too! I am very short and small framed so I could easily be 105-110 and still be healthy. However, I wanted something realistic and then when I get there I may lower it or phase off for awhile and then try again for another 10-15. I picked the high end of normal for my height and age

I picked mine because it's what I use to weigh for several years before I gained a ton of weight and became overweight/obese.

YES! This is so true! I originally picked 125 and thought I would be in a size 8 and felt like I would be really happy with that. Well I got to 135 and was wearing a size 4 across the board, so I was really happy with that, so I phased off.

I gained a few pounds over the summer and my 4's got tight so I am rebooting to get back down to goal and back to my pants fitting. I got rid of ALL my old clothes and I refuse to buy any bigger clothes, so the only option is to get back into my 4's.

I would pick a size you would like to be and then make your goal weight whatever weight you are when you are that size. Check different designers and try on a bunch of different items, when you are consistantly at that size, you are at your goal!
