I was wondering the same - although I'm not too big on it, when my boys get some, sometimes I want a little. Our local shop has fat free/sugar free but they can't tell me calories - and what would be in it??????

Search the board for ice cream recipes (I've seen it as IP ice cream) -- I know there are several out there. Also, when I'm craving something cold and sweet, I make the puddings or wildberry yogurt then stick it in the freezer for 20-30 min (or however long I feel. It's not ice cream consistency, more like frozen yogurt but still it's the spot!

I was last night too - so I just took an Atkins RTD shake, poured it in a bowl and into the freezer it went, after a few hours it was good to go... last night it was strawberry... in hindsight I wish I would've stirred it after an hour or so, as it was one huge solid mass and took some time to thaw... will try chocolate next time - and probably add some banana extract before freezing and then top it with chocolate syrup too! ;0)

There is an IP Ice cream you can make out of the packets, I can't remember who came up with this, but here is it...(not my recipe!) (WATCH OUT for the salt step - it's gross if you don't rinse it properly LOL)

IP ICE CREAM Ingredients: 1 IP drink packet (I used the vanilla the first time) TSP of vanilla extract 1 packet of sweetener (I use splenda or stevia) 1 cup of water cup of course salt Ice Directions: Put 1 cup of water into IP shaker – add in vanilla and sweetener – then the IP drink packet and shake until well blended. Pour mixture into small sandwich plastic bag. SEAL TIGHT. Take a gallon sized plastic bag and fill up half way with ice cubes. Pour cup of salt into the bag. Place the sealed sandwich bag with the drink mixture inside the ice cube bag. MAKE SURE BOTH BAGS ARE SEALED TIGHT.

Now here come the little arm workout! Shake, shake, shake for 8 minutes.

Stop at around 5 minutes and check to see the progress.

At about 5 minutes the mixture should be partially frozen – kind of looking like a slushy. Use pot holders while shaking the bag because it’s cold to hold onto!

At 8 minutes you are going to have a hard bag of ‘ice cream’! Take out of the salty ice bag and very quickly rinse the bag off under cold water. Important step as you don't want salty ice cream. Just rinse off the bag quickly to avoid that.

I topped the vanilla with WF strawberry, can't wait to try this recipe with a chocolate packet and top with WF chocolate syrup or WF caramel syrup and enjoy or double them all up!

Check out LizRR's puree thread - she has posted a few recipes for IP-friendly sorbets.

Fun with Veggie Purees!

And here's a recipe for ice cream using the RTD and a pudding packet:

That sounds heavenly, but unfortunately those of us on Ideal Protein in phase 1 can't have any of that!

In the hot months I used to really want something 'ice creamy' as well. The best I came up with was putting a Chocolate Muscle Milk RTD in the freezer overnight. The next day I'd transfer it in the early afternoon to the refrigerator section to thaw somewhat. By 8pm-9pm it was thawed enough to make a delicious ice creamy dessert - I'd remove the carton, slice the frozen but somewhat melted protein drink into chunks and put it all in my small Ninja container - blend well, and enjoy. I tried this with an EAS RTD as well, but the Muscle Milk was creamier.

I haven't personally tried the product, but another poster here recently gave FitFreeze a favorable review too. I've noticed it's available through Netrition.com, and also Thelowcarbgrocery.com.

I make a strawberry rhubarb cheesecake one that is good.

Microwave 1 to 2 cups of rhubarb with WF strawberry syrup until mushy. Put in a blender with 6 to 8 oz of crushed ice and water until smooth. Then add NY cheesecake pudding(healthsmart) or vanilla pudding works and blend. Put into a bowl and freeze, stirring every so often until frosty enough for you. Tastes pretty good!
