Hi all! Glad to hear we all survived the Labour Day weekend. We were at my sister's place and man, so many yummy things there but I said no to them all. It wasn't easy, that's for sure! But I'm hoping for a really good WI tomorrow night as a result. I think it will be extra good thanks to finally going off my mega doses of iron...it's really helped things improve in general. I'm actually looking forward to seeing what the scale has to say!

You do look great!! and the changes in your pics are amazing.... Maybe he has his own insecurities about his own weight. Well let me tell y'all what happened to me this weekend....BF hasn't been home for 5 weeks right so yesterday he tells me you have gotten smaller since the last time I was home...I said DUH!!! I am losing inches now he said yea that is a good thing...MIND you he weighs 290lbs....I am thinking ok throw something else at me....so he wants to go to the casino yesterday we are there for 6 ....SIX freaking hours right....he stops playing poker to come "check" on my....he gave me $3 to play....WTF can I do for SIX hours on $3???? ok so now its 3pm I am starving, the waitresses keep asking if I need anything I just say water plz I think they were thinking DAMN this woman is thirsty...lol....I drank like 20 bottles of wast . FINALLY he comes and says you wanna go get something to eat? I shot him a pair of eyes and said its 3 what do you think. SOOOOO we go to the buffet. $23.99 PER person, I am like OMG this is CRAZT but whatever I am hungry. So I walk see what I can eat, fix myself a salad, then go back for baked chicken, cabbage, green beans, 3 boiled crabs and about a dozen of boiled shrimp. Ate that, he is now on his ohhhh I don't know 6th plate, I pushed my plate away saying I am done. His response was...DONE???...I said yea...he said you can cheat, you have been on the diet long enough without cheating it would do your body good to cheat plus you have to eat your $23.99 worth. I looked at him and said BEFORE I would have eaten as much as you have eaten on your 8th plate of food, NOW I am done with what I have eaten and if you got a problem with how much I ate I can pay for my da*n self. He said well I didn't say that , I looked at him and said Maybe you just don't understand me as well as you think I do. DO NOT tell me it is OK for me to CHEAT....YOU are only home for 4-5 days out of the month and all you do is EAT EAT and EAT some more and sit and watch tv.....I AM NOT LIKE THAT.....I eat what I am suppose too and that is it....now go get your plates of desserts I will sit here and watch you eat it. He went and got a piece of pecan pie, chocolate mouse pie, lemon margarine pie and some cookies....when he said he was done I looked at him and said you sure? he said yea I'm going back to play poker...I said alrighty then went back to my seat and people watched in the lobby rocking in the chair reading my book....lol.....thank goodness he goes back to work tomorrow....hahahahaha

Thanks for the support Wuv. Now this bf story has me worried about ya! What is up with that?? $3????? Sounds like you spent more time in the bathroom than having fun!! Not cool either for bf to encourage you to cheat. But good on ya for setting him straight!!! You're right about the insecurities these men have. You have your head on straight and know what you want and what you don't want! They need to figure it out for themselves and be motivated intrinsically. I am cooking healthier for the whole family, if he choses to sit on his arse and not get outside and be active with us, that's his choice. What he puts in his mouth is also his choice. Just like it is mine for what I choose. I think of what youve accomplished and get goosebumps!!! What you have achieved for yourself shows everyone what a strong amazing woman you are. You inspire me daily!

Now onto the 1st day of school and getting a sense of a regular day! I am excited for my schedule this year. I am doing reading groups all day then onto classes after work. My hubby and kids are so supportive and I think we have a system that works. I WI early in the morning, before work and I am hoping for any loss. I have had 2 big losses in a row so this week will probably be low but since camping was such a success for me, I am hoping hoping hoping. I have a week worth of threads to catch up on. I hope everyone had great WIs last week and I am hoping for great WIs this week! I am so proud of all of you this summer who have stayed 100% over vacations and camping trips. Everyone here is so AMAZING and I thank you all for inspiring me and helping me.

Holy crap!!! That's alot of money flushed down the toilet!! I have been in a casino once in my life. I had $20 in my pocket, the first machine ate it all and that was that! Pretty boring actually, and I couldn't believe how much money people were wasting as I walked around and people watched!!! I'm the same as you....save it for what we really need!!

Wuv you truly are one of the strongest people I've come to know - give it right back to him! I'm very lucky that my husband is extremely supportive of what I'm doing. It's my SISTER IN LAW that is the bug in my ear, saying "do you mind if I eat this in front of you", "can't you just have a glass of wine", etc. But I hear the voice of everyone on this thread and just smile, all the while knowing I can still wear my 100% badge with pride

Hubby is HOME! It's been such a crazy weekend, but he was discharged this afternoon and things are actually back to normal now. We just spent some good family time together, then went to SIL's house and had a small BBQ. I showed her how to make a Big Mac salad, and even though she threw a bunch of cheese and fatty dressing on hers, it's a step in the right direction! Our kids wore each other out and the grownups got to hang out for a while. All in all a great end to a craptastic weekend

I'm so happy that he's home and is doing so much better. Good for you or resisting your sister in law's attempts to get you off track. I'm proud of you. Wuv, I'm proud of you too! You tell him!

I had some surgery in May and kept hinting to my hubby that some flowers would be nice. When that didn't work, I had his family members ask him if he had bought me flowers via phone, email, facebook... the vase remained empty. Finally I sent him an email at work with the Kenny Rogers lyrics to "buy me a Rose, on the way home from work, open the door for me what would it hurt?..."you know the one? Kenny did the trick, and flowers arrived that day! Gotta hit them over the head sometimes! LOL

BTW I love your pics because they are close in size, so the differences in your face is REALLY noticeable. Well done and keep up the great work!

Just a comment on the gambling thing Wuv -- whether it's food or gambling -- or whatever, it's about "self-control" and not giving in to old habits. It's "his" money now, but if you two stay long term, it will be both your money. It may be time to have a talk with him, not about giving up gambling or food, as he has to make his choices, but about the fact that they ARE choices, and he obviously has some self-control issues too. He should be looking at you as an inspiration, as we all do, and saying "Damn, I'm a lucky man! Now how do I keep this one?"
You are such a great support that I know when he's ready to make some changes, he'll be glad of your strength.

Glad to hear DH is home!

I've had an active but relaxing long weekend despite my raving lunatic boss giving it his best shot at ruining it. I have been anxious about my work issues but found a new mantra so when I start thinking about it, I repeat "peace and serenity" in my mind or even out loud. I am now dreading work tomorrow though and hope that doesn't leave me chanting as I lay awake in bed all night.

Saturday was a fabulous afternoon at a luxury spa for my 75lb reward. Algae cocoon wrap with a body scrub and massage. Before and after the treatment, there was a steam room with aromatherapy to enjoy plus a lounge with unlimited water bottles and rooibos tea. They even have a snack bar with healthy stuff like these amazing whole grain spa cookies, dried fruit and rice seaweed rolls. I skipped those but had the fresh cucumber slices and a little cube of cheese (don't use my milk in the morning so my coach allows this on occasion).

Sunday I visited a friend at her lake cottage. It was over-cast and a little cool but we still sat on the beach. This lake has beautiful sandy beaches. I brought my own lunch but my friend's dinner was OP because we generally get together weekly for dinner except over summer so she knows my food "style". In the evening there were fireworks at the park for a girl's birthday party. I ran into a co-worker who had a little bit to drink by then. He and my friend were commenting on how good I looked but I said I still have a hard time feeling good. I can sometimes see it in the mirror but other times no. But the main part is that I still struggle with energy due to my hypothyroid and high stress levels at work. I've been taking regular B12 shots lately to help but then something like allergies hit for a few days and I'm back to dragging myself around. We had a big argument over how much I still expect to lose and they can't believe it. I didn't say outright how much I weighed but said over 200 and they couldn't believe I was still that big. They thought I was wrong, but how would I not know what the scale says after all this time?

Today I did a bit of cleaning up because my DB and SIL are arriving from BC Wed night for a few days. I'm looking forward to their visit. I also work on some dehydrating with my week old dehydrator. Blueberries for the start of my temporary phase 3 on Saturday, mushrooms to grind up for sauces or soups, beef jerky minus the sugar for supplementing phase 2 lunches on the go. I also did a bunch of phase 3 prep work. I have started with the phase 3 breakfast thread and especially LizRR's recipes but most I still have to modify to stick to gluten free. I have a few options put together using quinoa, GF oats, masa corn flour and GF bread. The biggest problem is that GF products tend to be higher carbs so I had to do lots of research to find lower carb breads or flour options. Once I get to start cooking on phase 3, I'll post the recipes that work out okay.

I hadn't meant for such a long post. I didn't have time to quote on all the other posts I've read this weekend but I wanted to say thanks for being here. I don't tend to be overly talkative online or in person but I love to absorb what is going on around me and appreciate those that are willing to put a voice to my journey even if i can't. I probably won't get on the boards too much over the next week or so but I'll check in when I can.
