My husband and I just started IP diet on Monday. I have a few questions:
1. Can you have crystal light?
2. What about things like "I can't believe it's not butter"?
3. When do the headaches go away? We both have headaches in the afternoon/evening. Drinking tons of water and adding sea salt to everything.
4. What about sugarless gum?
Is there something else we should be doing? I also thought I would at least be down a pound but nothing yet..... I know these questions sound crazy, but we haven't cheated and dont want to....
1. You can have crystal light, but take note of the amount of carbs are in the packets. ex. lime has 0, but others can have as many as 3-4 carbs per serving.
2. If "I can't believe it's not butter" falls under the 0/0/0 category (zero carb, zero fat and zero sugar), then it's safe to have.
3. My headaches went away after 3 days, I often would add sea salt to my water to help get rid of them.
4. Sugarless gum still has carbs, so make sure to check the carb count per stick of gum.
Is there a "magic number" of how many carbs and protein to have a day. I know my coach told me to take my goal weight and divide it by 2 to get the correct grams of protein a day (sound right to anyone else?) but what is the carb number I should have? I like chewing the sugarless gum too, but never thought about the added carbs.
My coach said to try and stay below 40 carbs per day, so if you are eating a restricted, chewing gum and drinking crystal light chances are you will go over 40 grams of carbs in a day.
Okay, I thought the 0/0/0 was carbs, calories and fat. I see some people saying carbs, sugar and fat...if something has zero carbs it will not have sugar as sugar is all carbs. Can someone clear this up please?

SO NEVERMIND, I just answered my own question when I found my Phase 1 sheet. I'm doing alternatives now so I don't always refer to the sheets as much.

I'm not sure about how much protein is recommended. If my goal weight is 135, that means I should only have 37 grams of protein? Each packet is at least 15 grams right? And then my 8 oz of chicken on top of that? Hmmmm

Hi everyone,
I just started IP alternative today, after reading some of the posts about IP last night. I'm excited to try it!
I was wondering if I purchased the supplements, if I should get the Potassium calcium one or the Magnesium calcium one, or both?
Thank you!
Not sure what to do. I purchased the IP vitamin online today, and the Magnesium calcium one.

Hi,
I also do the alternative. You would need to add the potassium calcium.
I take supplements that equal the IP supplement equivalents and buy at wholesale club, and discount shops online.
I read that we take 2 Natura multi-vitamins each day, and 4 Natura Cal-mags each day.
Does anyone know how many of the Natura Cal-potassiums I should take?
I would appreciate any advice
Have a great weekend!
BTW- I lost .5 already and I just started yesterday...I was at a plateau with calorie counting, so I'm really hoping to see some change!

You take one of the potassium-calcium pills per day. Here's how my coach broke it up for us:
