Awesome photos usmcvet!!!!!

My WI on the other hand was less than awesome. Only 1 lb this week. Back to work and getting ready for the kiddies tomorrow. Having trouble getting everything in now like all the veggies and water. But it is still going in the right direction I guess. Still kind of disappointed.

Hope everyone else is having a great week.!!!!

That's incredibly important and I'm so happy for you!

Here's an excerpt from wikipedia (OK, not the greatest source but this info below is accurate):
Visceral fat or abdominal fat[6] also known as organ fat or intra-abdominal fat, is located inside the abdominal cavity, packed between the organs (stomach, liver, intestines, kidneys, etc.). Visceral fat is different from subcutaneous fat underneath the skin, and intramuscular fat interspersed in skeletal muscles. Fat in the lower body, as in thighs and buttocks, is subcutaneous, whereas fat in the abdomen is mostly visceral.[7]
An excess of visceral fat is known as "belly fat", in which the abdomen protrudes excessively. The correlation between central obesity and cardiovascular disease is strong.[8] Excess visceral fat is also linked to type 2 diabetes,[9] insulin resistance,[10] inflammatory diseases,[11] and other obesity-related diseases.[12]
I have a scale that measures visceral fat and age (+ BMI, body fat%, muscle %, etc. - scale was the Omron 514 from Amazon, approx $70.) and when i started my visceral fat was 11 and the age on the scale was 58. I'm 55...hmmm..right now, my visceral fat is 7 and scale age is 47. Love IP!

Sorry to hear this, and you are pretty young to be shrinking. I would look into that - don't want to alarm you but check it out carefully. I lost a half inch in between 50 and 55 and it seems my friends also didn't start to lose height until their 50's. Don't want anything to happen to you!

Only 1 pound is important. Remember as you lose weight, your body is constantly juggling where it is shrinking and losing, all the while stabilizing and acclimating to the new lower weight. That's a whole mug of fat! And next week, it will probably give up more fat.

Such a good day!! Had my WI lost 1.8lbs in 5 days. (last WI was thrown off due to vacation lost 6.2, so 8lbs in two weeks) Went shopping today for new clothes!! Just some interim clothes, hoping to slim down some more. Went from a 42C to a 38C. Now I can buy bras anywhere and for a heck of lot less than Lane Bryant! Bought some size 16 jeans, was a 20-22!!!! Didn't even voyage into the plus size section as kohls!! Makes me want to stay OP!!

Does anyone mix the alternatives with IP? The cost is starting to get to me and I thought about doing 2 IP packets and one EAS shake.

Hope you are all having a great day!!

I did a fasting gluecose test today. Is that gross, sugary drink enough to sendme out of ketosis?

Hi all!

usmc - LOVE the new pics! Way to go!

Glad to hear of so many good weigh ins! Mine was less than stellar last night - I'm UP 2.4lbs. Ugh. Not surprised at all given I'd just travelled, etc, but still. No one ever wants to gain. Hopefully it'll fall off quickly now that I'm home. Guess we shall find out next week!

Hope everyone had a great day!

Oh my, I wasn't having luck with my other scale and also bought an Omron 514. My visceral fat is 13. Rude awakening to find our my age is calculated at 74.

I use EAS shakes and so far everything else is IP. I ordered some ProtiThin and ProtiDiet but haven't received it yet. I'm sure once I get to maintenance, I will still be using packet products semi-regularly, so I am expanding my options.

ITA - it is a rude awakening to see some of those calculation on the Omron 514. I'm loving mine. My age was also about 10 years higher than my real age when I started, and that totally freaked me. It's now just 4 years higher. My visceral fat has been slow to move, but it has gone down to 10 now, and hopefully will keep improving as I drop the remaining pounds between here and goal. I'm well aware of the implications of too much visceral fat, and being an 'apple shape' getting this much lower still is one of my major concerns.

But every pound lost does help. And it's interesting to watch those weekly calculations on the Omron reflect the changes that are happening in our body.

Stinky work computer is blocking pictures, otherwise I'm sure i'd be basking in usmcvet's glory....so a pre-emptive WAY TO GO your way, until I get home from work and see your success for real!

I'm trying to get my meal planning straightened out - once upon a time I had every week planned to the letter, and would bulk cook for the freezer to have stuff on hand. I feel like I finally have a handle on the packet planning for each week (love my ziploc bags!) but the meal planning has been a bit more of a challenge. I work 3pm-11pm four nights a week, I can plan around the 3 meals I'm home for but I keep getting stuck making sure the boys and hubby have something good planned for my work nights and I'm not constantly relying on the hospital cafeteria. I know it's going to get more challenging once school starts up so I need to COWBOY UP and just make it a habit now!
