Default IP Lasagna

Can't wait to try the lasagna. Thank you so much for posting all of this wonderful recipes.

I just started on IP and like most of the food so far, but can tell I'm going to seriously need to spice up the food for a better flavor.

Could you substitute frozen spinach for the fresh in your morning smoothie?

What could be added as a thickener to serve the purees as side dishes or even entrees, protein powder?

In regards to the purees, don't add as much chicken broth. I eat the cauliflower and garlic purée every day, but have adjusted it as a side dish. It's never the same consistency from day to day, because I don't measure anything. I add chicken broth as a splash or spill, depending on how I feel!

I'm not sure about the taste comparison on frozen vs fresh spinach. I would think you can taste the frozen more in a smoothie, but I'm not sure. Maybe you could test it and let us know!

If you use an RTD instead if a packet, do you reduce the 2 cups of coffee in your smoothie?

I always use my 2 cups of java! Whether i add RTD or prepared mix, pudding, etc.

And i dont know about the frozen spinach, but i just read in Womens Running magazine the cover model made a similar smoothie using protein powder & frozen spinach, so its been done before, i just havent taste tested it myself.

I made 3 of the purees on Sunday and used the Roasted Red Pepper Sauce for the lasagna which was AMAZING!!!! I didn't have mushrooms (used them all for the celery, garlic, mushroom puree) so I subed with spinach!

I also made the Roasted Red Pepper and Poblano Pepper puree and add it to my chicken noodle soup. I also didn't buy enough red peppers but had some brocolli so I used 1/2 red peppers and 1/2 brocolli for all of the red peppers. OMG....amazing when I added it to the soup. Smells so yummy!

I will be making this for life! Thank you Liz!!!

Default Fresh Salsa

Ingredients
2 jars Roasted Red Bell Peppers
1 bunch Cilantro
3 seeded Jalapenos (change your peppers to heat/taste)
3 seeded Serranos
4 cloves Garlic
Salt & Pepper to taste

Directions
1. Throw everything into a blender and let 'er rip!

Notes:
* This is a modifications from my pre-IP salsa recipe (the only change is instead of bell peppers and S&P I used 3 8-oz cans of tomato sauce)
* If you lightly coat your hands with oil it helps shield your skin from the jalapeno heat - some folks wear gloves when handling peppers.
