  • I am trying to confirm what someone told me. They said a coach at Women's Hospital told her that the dressing at Albasha's was okay for IP. Has anyone else been told this? When I asked my coach she said it depends on the ingredients and I don't know the ingredients. I also heard that the owner of Ruffinos has an IP menu now and that he has a dressing that he sells which is IP. Has anyone heard about this or tried it?

I do not know if the above is correct. Trying to see if anyone knows.
  • Okay so I called Albashas and they said the only ingredients in their dressing is olive oil, lemon and garlic. The olive oil is whipped to make it creamy - I am one happy girl right now!

Then I called Ruffinos and YES they have an ideal protein menu and a dijon mustard dressing that they also will sell.

    Great news! Thanks for checking!
  • Oooh thank you for the info! Today is my first day - live in Geismar/Dutchtown. My hubby loves eating out, so I am looking for tips like these!
  • Yahoo!!!!!! I'm going back home in a few weeks and i was so sad I wouldn't be able to eat my chicken schwarma salad. Yay me!
  • I am always looking for places that I can stay OP and my family will enjoy! Thanks for the info!
  • Beckha12 said: i make a similar dressing in a food processor. the creaminess comes from emulsifying the olive oil and garlic, olive oil alone cannot be whipped from my experience. that style of dressing is IP compliant but I use it sparingly because it takes a decent amount of oil to achieve that consistency.

So we need to be sure to have the dressing on the side and dip the fork first into the dressing and then the salad.

If anyone tries the IP things Ruffinos be sure and report on the menu and dressing there!
  • MiamiCajun LOVE LOVE LOVE your picture! So cute......
  • I can't wait to tell my mom about the ip menu!
  • I used to live in Baton Rouge and my husband worked at Ruffinos I live in San Antonio, TX now, but we're going back to BR in October for a wedding so maybe I'll stop in to Ruffinos and be able to check out their IP menu That's fantastic!

  • YAY! This makes me sooooo happy! I love Albasha!

Also, be sure to check out Zoe's Kitchen. Their greek salad is great if you ask for no feta or grilled onions! :-) YUM.

Thanks GramEGail!!! I think they really did! My birthday is late January and it would explain my love for sugar, Hahaha
  • Wish I had seen this when you posted. I contacted Ruffino's and they emailed me a copy of their IP menu, looks pretty good. I've also been to Albasha's and could not even eat the whole schawrma (sp?) salad, just too much.

There are threads in here about what restaurants are good to eat at. Outback is good. I went there to celebrate my first week OP and it was delicious.

Here is a link to the restaurant guide
  • This is such good news, I love Chicken Shwarma salad from Albasha. We went to Outback for Father's Day and it's really easy to stay OP there. I haven't tried Zoe's Kitchen or Ruffino's but I'm sure I will soon.
  • So happy to have found this thread! I'm back on after losing 50 pounds (to get the rest!) and wanted some Greek food. Yay for Ruffino's, too! It's so close to my house and always awesome.
