So a few NSVs went to a reversal dinner tonight. Ate OP didn't drink. Can't sleep in hotel bed because it's too firm and I'm wide awake after an argument. So I got up and wanted to go to the fridge. Instead I'm on the couch with my blender bottle full of ice water writing g this note. I'm frustrated because I'm tired but wide freaking awake! No more desire for the fridge. It is nice to exercise some will power!

usmcvet 05-26-2012 02:28 AM

More water then bed. Exhaustion is taking over.

Sorry to hear your frustration bud...but VERY glad to hear you have resisted the temptations (and/or habit) that many of us have turned to for many years...the fridge.

Keep your chin up, tomorrows another day, and Im betting when you look back at this you will be proud of your choice, and the argument wont seem like such a big deal as it does now. Ive got a hot temper that keeps me in trouble a LOT, and my wife (shes such a dork) finds humor in my anger, which of course makes me even madder while she snickers away and often makes fun of my 'rages'. My 3 daughters are now old enough to all jump in on it...Im living in the estrogen ocean here....

Hang tough, and talk to you tomorrow!

Good early morning - 4:30 - - ugh - - can't sleep - i haven't had a night like this in a long while. Hat being sleepless. Checking in here - but everyone else must be slumbering as it is pretty darn quiet on here. :)

I've had a pretty good week staying OP. Don't feel many changes though. I'm waiting for my pants to be loose. I've always gotten "stuck in the 170's", and don't want that to happen. I want to get down to the 160's - then I think I will feel a big difference. I don't WI until this coming Wednesday - I hope to be down 5.

Can't wait to get through this day at work - I'm looking forward to 2 days off - I usually only get 1. It will be a welcome break as I feel drained after the Mother's Day week and then my daughter's HS graduation, and then right into the busyness(how DO you spell that) of Memorial Day.

Have a wonderful Saturday everyone!:D

Good Morning Everybody

I had a rough night last night. I have been having back trouble and for some reason last night it hurt terribly. So I took a vicoden that I had laying around from when I had oral surgery. Not a good idea. It did take the edge off of the back pain but man did I feel sick. dizzy and throwing up. I am feeling good today though, had a great night sleep. I will not do that again.

Anyhow, I am getting ready for a fun weekend. My 3 year old Great niece who I love dearly is staying with us for the weekend and on Monday we are hosting memorial day BBQ here at my house. The weather finally improved so I am looking forward to some fun.

Have a great day everybody and no matter what stay on plan

Good morning my friends. Happy Memoreal Day weekend!
I am having a scare. My Ketones are measuring only as a trace? This is unusual for me, ususally they register at a moderate. The only changes I have made is adding extra protein, per my coach. Also, I have discovered asparagus.....but they are OP. I have been using quite a bit of Pam to roast them. Those are the only changes.......I am really concerned.

FinnSteven 05-26-2012 06:09 AM

Wuv... I have to say again that you are looking absolutely SUMMER-LICIOUS! You continue to be an inspiration and are just GLOWING in your monthly update pix. Thanks for having the courage to share and just be you! (JellyMae also looks stunning. So proud of y'all!)

PEIslandGirl 05-26-2012 07:46 AM

I am in the home stretch, small lose this week (1.2lbs) but I will take it - it got me into the 130's and now I am only 11lbs from goal. Having a great time buying clothes but trying not to buy anything that may be too lose when I drop another size - so lots of shoes, dresses and tops - will get the bottoms when I reach goal.
I don't have a coach because of distance, but I do purchase from a spa that sells the product - when I went yesterday to stock up I mentioned to the owner that I had only lost 1.2lbs this past week and he said "then you are not in Ketosis, if you were in ketosis you would drop 3lbs" - I smiled nicely and told him I was 100% OP and he said that was impossible if I only lost 1.2lbs. I said I would review my journal but what I really wanted to do was punch him right between the eyes. Thanks to this site I know you can be 100% and still not lose 3lbs EVERY week.....arghhh. Sorry I just had to vent. I feel bad for the people not on this site who would let a jerk like this break their spirit.
To all my American friends - Have a wonderful Memorial weekend.

I have NEVER worried about any of that, You are following the program 100% and its telling you this? SOOO, you are adding STRESS to yourself that is UNNEEDED. Just follow the sheet and DON"T WORRY! TRUST ME, no stress is MUCH better than stressing yourself out over nothing :)

Can I help you punch him in the face???? I eat the SAME thing just about EVERY WEEK and I have been losing ONE pound a week. Its driving me crazy but it is what it is, can't do anything about it. Good for you for staying positive, you have come a long ways....congrats!

Good morning everyone, its only 7am and I am awake already....why?.....lol...I am NEVER up this early but I had to get up and take medicine, I have a really bad sinus headache, sniffles and yes my throat is killing me. So back to bed for me and I will check in again later :)

We were the same this morning. I was awake at 4:30, too. I'm usually never like that. I got my DH up with me, but he's gone back to bed now. For me, once I'm up, I'm up.

Sorry to hear about your back. I can relate, I have a lot of back problems, too. I am sorry that something you took made you feel worse. I'll keep you in my thoughts so your weekend can be great.

Sorry to hear about the spa owner giving you such a bad time. I can relate. I had a coach who was like that. Same mentality, you're cheating if you don't consistently lose 3 or more pounds. I was never anything but 100% OP. Wuv told me what she's told you. That's what is so great about this forum. You get the "real" story from those who have been there and know, plus the affirmation that you should get from the centers and coaches. Stick with all of us here. You'll get through. I've now made it 4 1/2 months and over 50 pounds. It does work.

Hey, swing by Georgia on your way to pick up CADU and USMCVET will have three angry women.

Wuv, so sorry to hear you're not feeling well. I hope you got lots of healing sleep. Take care.

Long weekend for me :cp: Unfortunately, DH does not get that luxury. We get today and some of tomorrow together before he has to sleep to get ready for four 12 hour nights.

WI tomorrow (I monitor myself now). Don't feel skinny this week though 100% OP. Someone send me that elusive whoosh fairy.

Have a great weekend.

All I can say is "help" - I just joined this site and have no idea what I am doing. I am usually really good with the computer but I am so green that i have posted twice and can't find them to see if anyone has answered. I am look for others on the IP diet to discuss how it is going and current issues such as racing heart??? Has anyone experienced their heart racing frequently?

Any suggestions on how to work this site would be great!! Thanks,

Another amazing IP day yesterday! We went out to eat (to a steak house) and did awesome. Then we went to a birthday party where there was an OPEN BAR and TONS of appetizers and we weren't even tempted!! Everyone kept trying to get me to try things or get drinks- so not worth it! One short month I'll be at my goal and loving it!!

From what I understand, the more water you drink and the more often you use the restroom, the more diluted your urine will be, so the sticks will not register exactly how strongly you are in ketosis. Also, the longer you are in ketosis, the more your body makes adjustments, so the "symptoms" (such as bad breath or odored urine) are not as noticeable, but you are still in ketosis! So like the oh so wise Wuv said, no worries! No need to stress, you're doing great!

I deserve a restricted today, right?

Good morning my IP peeps! :D So, this is Day 5 for me and I decided to try the chocolate pancake with my WF syrup...well....my pancake looked like, um, poop when i tried to cook it. Got frustrated and said I will just make a smoothie with stuff I had in the house. I use Sunwarrior Protein powder (1 carb, 0 sugar, 82 calories) and made a concoction called "Chocoberry Peanutty Smoothie." It was DELICIOUS and filling!!! Now, this is why I am writing this... I researched the nutrition facts on MyFitnessPal for everything I added, and actually, the facts are comparable to a non restricted food....heck, it had 10 carbs less than the Chocolate Pancake!!! Here's the break down:

Smoothie
Calories: 119
Saturated Fat 0
Fat: 2.3g
Cholesterol 0
Sodium 163.7mg
Potassium 227.4 mg
Total Carbs 5.1g
Dietary fiber 1.9g
Protein: 20.9 g
Calcium 3.0%
Iron 45.5%
Vitamin A 286.3%
Vitamin C 14%
Sugars: 0
Vitamin B 12 150%
Magnesium 4%
Chromium 41% Chlorophyll a 30mg

Chocolate Pancake
Calories: 171
Saturated Fat: 0
Fat: 2g
Cholesterol: 0
Sodium: 220mg
Potassium 230 mg
Total Carbs 15g
Dietary Fiber 2g
Protein: 20g
Calcium: 15%
Iron 6%
Vitamin A 0%
Vitamin C 14%
Sugars 0

So, with this information...I believe I should be able to have a restricted food!! No sugar, very low carb, low in fat, and as much or more protein as most of the foods. And actually, more minerals than the other food and it was made from ALL Natural foods (except the walden farms peanut butter and strawberry jelly). Yet I used stevia to help to sweeten. Thoughts?

Tripmama 05-26-2012 09:35 AM

WI# 18 down 4 pounds and 2 inches from my tummy. Feeling good and loving the lifestyle. More baseball today and triplet graduation this Friday. Couldn't be prouder of myself...well maybe if my house was clean too! Lol! Almost halfway to goal!

No racing heart here. There is a search key up top, you may try searching the forums for it.

GOOD LUCK!

Why no MIO? I use it all the time. My coach even said yes to crystal light.

My IP coach is an IP purist I guess. She said no because that was not strictly listed on the plan. She even said no oto pelligrino (I draw the line there though ) - seltzer water was ok I think. She also worked in pharamaceuticals for years and is familiar with the ingriedients in vitamins and other food products. She tends to advocate natural dressings (eg EVOO & Apple Cider Vinegar, lemons, etc)

Hi foxxy,
If your smoothie has only 5.1g carbs, you're okay as this would not be restricted. Make sure those are NOT net carbs. You have to consider total carbs, not net carbs. If so, you are still open for your once a day restricted.

Plus, can you post your recipe. Sounds really yummy.
Molly

Tripmama--Woot, woot!! You just continue to knock those pounds away. Relax and enjoy the weekend. Your triplets will only graduate from HS once! You have so much to be proud of and so much to look forward to. Isn't it great to have the energy and self-confidence to move forward to create the life of your dreams?

That's awesome, NOVA!!!! I hope to be able to do the same when I go to BBQs. I plan to make myself some shrimp kebobs for the grill and a salad to take with me so I can eat with everyone. Or I may take BBQ Chicken (WF BBQ). Anyone tried the WF BBQ? Maybe I should take a Peanut bar or something as a desert to help keep me from eating sweets too?

I said I would review my journal but what I really wanted to do was punch him right between the eyes. Thanks to this site I know you can be 100% and still not lose 3lbs EVERY week.....arghhh. Sorry I just had to vent. I feel bad for the people not on this site who would let a jerk like this break their spirit.
To all my American friends - Have a wonderful Memorial weekend.

Sounds like he needs training

I have a friends 50th birthday party to attend tonight with a DJ so will carry my pelligrino and lemons so I wont be tempted by the alco alco alcohol!!!

Have a great 100% OP day!!

Or I may take BBQ Chicken (WF BBQ). Anyone tried the WF BBQ? Maybe I should take a Peanut bar or something as a desert to help keep me from eating sweets too?

I love the WF BBQ sauce. there are a couple of flavors and I haven't found one I didn't like. I started using WF before I was on IP. My DH, who doesn't need to diet, loves it too. Course, everyone's tastes are different.

Hi foxxy,
If your smoothie has only 5.1g carbs, you're okay as this would not be restricted. Make sure those are NOT net carbs. You have to consider total carbs, not net carbs. If so, you are still open for your once a day restricted.

Plus, can you post your recipe. Sounds really yummy.
Molly

Molly, It was! It is definitely Total Carbs (don't know how to do Net Carbs). Here's the recipe:

1 Scoop SunWarrior Natural Warrior Blend Protein Powder
1 tsp Pure Hawaiian Pacifica Spirulina
4 drops Liquid Stevia (french vanilla)
1 cup Baby Spinach
1 tbsp WF Strawberry Fruit Spread
1-2 Tbsp WF Peanut Spread
1-2 cups water
7 cubes of ice

Pour all ingredients in a blender and blend!! Healthy Green Smoothie!!!! :D
Plus, SunWarrior has all the essential Amino Acids needed!! I feel so satiated!!! Yay! I think I may skip the restricted today, though. Just eat my pudding and call it a day.

We tried it. The Spicy one is good, the original is okay.

I usually bring soy puffs in my purse for the just in case ;)

I'll have to order it then...couldn't find it in the store, just found the spreads, dips, dressings, syrups, and mayos there. They had all of this on sale this week for $2.99 each! No taxes! I lucked out and stocked up! :D

I'll try that. I know I will want something sweet, but since the bbq and dressing is sweet I may do the soy puffs. I actually really like the soy nuts (onion and garlic) a lot. It helps when craving Sour cream and onion potato chips. :D

I am so very proud of you! You should be proud of yourself too. I am sorry about the argument and that it left you feeling frustrated...hoping you find some resolution and peace quickly. With that said I am still proud of you! :)

The cheapest online is www.netrition.com. They have a flat $4.95 shipping for the 48 US states. You talking about the BBQ sauce made me reminder I needed to order it and I just did.

Enjoy.

I hear ya about the sleepless nights, I am so ready for this cough to go away. I have at least two fits a night which keep me up for a bit. You WILL make it to the 160's if you stay OP and keep working on it. I hope it is sooner rather than later, but take each day and each weigh in one at a time.
You May sounds so busy. I think it is that way for many! I hope this weekend is a welcome break.

The best quoting tip - EVER!! Thanks Rosie, aka 6710.

Wuv, This link did not take me to anything about quoting, I'm trying to teach myself but would like the link if anyone has it. I hope you get over this spring cold quickly!

100% OP yesterday successfully (I really dont find it that hard) and already looking good for today. I liked what my bathroom scale had to say for me this am and am now looking forward to each day! We have plans this weekend to take 7-yes 7 kids up to the waterpark of America in MN and woke up to a flat tire on our Suburban-ARGH! There is nothing open in our little rinky dink town on a weekend. So hubby is trying hard to fix it. I am not sure what our plan B is, maybe borrow his moms other car and take two cars up. I already have my packets packed and am taking grilled chix breast for dinner tonight, contemplating what veggies to bring (I had 1 cup of spinach in my omelet this am). Wish us luck with the car. Heading off to get all the kids ready. They are so excited about taking friends up there!

Good morning! Hoping everyone has a great Memorial Day weekend. Going to to stay OP throughout all the festivities. Thanks for the great tips. I must find the wf bbq sauce and try soy nuts on salad!! I will probably be eating better (more flavor and variety) than everyone else.

Yes!! I LOVE Netrition! Used to order my workout supplements from them because they are cheap!!! Amazon is too expensive with this! So I plan to just get BBQ sauce since everything else is local. :D Thanks!

I've tried it last week-end and it was really good. It gave a nice crunch to the salad. I had the BBQ ones.

Just had my 4th WI this morning and am down 2.2lbs. Very happy with it. One month has gone by already...time flies ;-) ready to continue ;-)

Have an awesome OP week-end! My house looks like a huge box of boxes...we're moving soon :cb:
