Happy St. Patty's Day! Does anyone know if sugar-free gum is allowed on IP?
Orbit gum is allowed...but dont go overboard. My coach told me she had a client once who was eating like 10 peices a gum a day and she stopped losing weight even though she was 100% IP.
Can I ask what the tests are? I just had some blood work but I don't know what the test was. It did check iron, sugar, potassium and other things. I just wanted to make sure I was good to go, mid-way before I continued on with this diet. I will probably request some tests when I am done this summer and then just wait for my yearly.
This is what my past fibro/thyroid specialist ordered...it is a lot of blood, sigh. The CMP and the Miscellaneous sections are what I will be looking for relative to the IP plan. I have a spreadsheet that I update every time I have tests run, so I have some personal baselines to compare to.
Lipid Panel
Cholesterol, Total
HDL Cholesterol
LDL Cholesterol,Calc *
Chol/HDLC Ratio
Triglcerides *
I booked my spa treatment to reward for my first mini-goal of 25 pounds. I'm going to a very nice spa for a herbal mud cocoon and sea salt scrub. Treatment should last about 90 mins but before and after there is also a steam room, aromatherapy rain shower and lounge with herbal tea and water. So I'll probably be there for about 3 hours. It will be heaven for an afternoon.

Thank you so much, bethanym. I should keep a spreadsheet as well.
I think the comp metabolic panel and CBC w/diff are probably standard. I also get the Hemo A1C and Vit D. I think I want to ask about B12 and that hormone one.
I have been organizing/cleaning out my closet, and guess what the most prevalent color is? BLACK (even though I live in hot FL) because it does hide fat rolls to some minimal degree, but let's be honest....black might make ME feel better, but it doesn't fool anyone else. Fat dressed in black is still fat!
Needless to say, I am looking forward to expanding my wardrobe in the future!

Sounds like a fantastic day - you deserve it
I love spa treatments!

I did the same thing today and still in process but am taking a well deserved break! I has 2 closets and I set one up for everything that fits me now. I usually range from size 8 - 12 so moved my 8's into the one closet. I refuse to keep the size 12 things. Almost my entire closet was black also. I went shopping the other day and bought color I need to finally get to my ideal weight and stay there!! I think of all of the money wasted on the various sizes that I have bought over the years....crazy

I sorted all my clothes by color and size, lol. But it sure would clear out a lot of space if I moved all the mediums and smalls into another closet! Maybe that will be tomorrow's project.
Good green day of volleyball today. I miss my scale, have to admit, and not getting to move my shamrock on my ticker this week. But I fell great! And will kill it at my next WI. Just love getting smaller and smaller everyday. Keep on keeping On and the luck of the Irish to you on your next WI.

I love your attitude and your fork proverb in your siggy!
I am on day 24, wondering if it would make any difference for weight loss if I have my 8oz of protein all at once or split between two meals?
Cathy
I often split mine up.

I do like the Paleo plan. It's the way our ancient ancestors ate, and it's still the way our bodies are programed to eat. Our bodies were never designed to handle grains, diary, etc. No wonder we are all feeling so much better when we low carb. We are feeding our body what it was meant to eat.
So, Last night my daughter and I went to 7 eleven for a couple things, my daughter got a Slurpee and I saw they had strawberry kiwi crystal light Slurpee so I got me one.
I took a sip and it was delicious so I took a couple more sips...mmm mmm mmmm... I was so happy to have found such a wonderful OP treat.
On about my 5th sip on the way home I thought.... oh no, "is this sweetened with splenda or aspartame".
So when I got home I tried to Google the ingredients (as my Slurpee sat there melting, calling my name) and sure enough, the only strawberry kiwi Crystal light I could find had Aspartame.
So I begrudgingly slunk over to the sink and poured it out!
My hubby was like "you are a little obsessed with this diet huh?" and it made me think.. yea I am a little obsessed with this diet... But.... what a wonderful thing. I cant remember the last time after being on a diet for over a month that I was still obsessed with it.
So the moral of this story is.. Watch the ingredients in everything.
And what I took away from this experience is that Unbeknownst to me, my thinking has been changing while on this diet.. I LOVE IP!
Wow good for you for being obsessed. I hope when I am a month in I feel the same way. I am in my second week and feel great and really don't want to fail a diet again. I haven't told anyone what I am doing except my husband, because I feel like every other week, I am "dieting" somehow always to fail 2 days in or a few weeks in. I am trying to be positive and stay focused on how well I feel, the cravings are gone and how easy it is to follow. The 7 lbs in 6 days lost was a great way to start too. Have a great day and I will remember......check ingredients in everything
