Would love to see the Anne Frank museum.

We stick with a budget at Mohegan...actually hubby has me stick to a budget...if it was up to me we may be in financial trouble!!! Just kidding.

Mohegan takes us just under an hour and we go about 3 - 4 times per year. We have two dogs who we don't like to leave home for long periods of time so we've yet to spend the night there. That's why I'm now considering going with friends or my mom. Love the excitement of casinos.
We have two dogs that are totally our "babies"....we have a great young lady who watches our house at the drop of a hat....and LOVES dogs and treats our girls so great (she went to school with our daughter).

I want to go to both Ireland and Amsterdam...so fun.

That is so right!!! I am hesitant to post about trying to get this ''small" regain off on the maintenance thread because so often people who are still working through phase 1 for the first time read there and get discouraged when people post about regaining.

But as I was rushing down a long corridor in a school today I was noticing how much energy I had and realized thatno one but me even noticed I was wearing a comfy size 10 instead of a size 8. So this re-losing is not fun but no where near the battle it was emotionally to be much more overweight.
We have to remember where we started in the first place.

Pat

I was sick all day yeasterday with a violent migraine so maybe ketosis is kicking in again.

I am not sure what is different this time about the jumpstart with phase 1 which doesn't seem to be happening.

The only thing different is how I am getting my veggies.

I take 2 cups of them each day as spinach in my shakes and the rest as oven baked veggie chips (zucchini; kale).
I am wondering if these methods are breaking down the veggies too much and I am not getting the required fibre.

Today is another start in the quest for comfy size 8s! Not sure how many size 10s survived the purge when I was packing away my winter stuff and I am afraid to look.

Hi pat
The last time I seriously rebooted in January it took much longer for the loss to happen. I think it took about 6 weeks to lose 12 pounds, and the first few weeks were very low losses...
At the very end I weighed 145 again, but was smaller everywhere than before. Maybe because less of the gain is fat it takes longer for the body to reconfigure and the water gain to go...
It will eventually happen!

Hello everyone, How are you? Today is day 9 of P1 and I'm at 164.2 (officially happy) . The scale stuck at 165.2 for three days and I couldn't wait for it to move. LOL!!! Knowing it would I just stuck to plan and kept plugging away.

I'm toying with the idea of moving to P2 tomorrow. Doing 2 days and then P3 for 2 days. You see, I have an event to attend on Friday where I was going to have a cheat day. I could push the event off a few days or even a week. What do you think? Thanks ladies!!! (and any male lurkers)

If you are at your goal I wouldn't worry about the phases so much anymore. Resume your normal maintenance eating and have your cheat if you want it.

I am still avoiding the scale, but my body is definitely shrinking. I will see Wednesday, but am committed to at least 21 days of phase 1!

Tried the chili with added veggies for lunch while watching nfl. Why haven't I been eating these things?!? Yummy and very filling.

Hi Mom, So even if I've been in P1 for 9 days I don't need to worry about reawakening the pancreas? Just want to make sure I got that right .

Ah, today I had my first big mac in a bowl. Well, a little modified. I used turkey patties, onions, tomato and yellow mustard. It was darn tasty. I've also tried a spinach chocolate protein drink. Two things I never had my first go around at p1. Both are really good!

Body shrinkage is such a great feeling! Glad you're feeling that!!!

I just don't believe the pancreas is resting. I think we are eliminating fatty liver and evening out insulin response...

Otherwise a very short phase off will probably help you deal with the cheat better. Less shok to the system!

Oh. I just assumed anytime we are in ketosis our pancreas is resting.

Medically speaking, when your body is in ketosis you have used up your glycogen stores and your body is tapping your fat stores for energy. Your pancreas IS resting, per se, because you are not needing insulin to break down the glycogen any more.

You don't want your pancreas to STAY resting forever, though - you WANT your pancreas to "reawaken" in phase 2 and 3 so that it eases back into normal insulin production as you are rebuilding your glycogen stores.

Any one with back troubles? I've never had any until this past week. Man has it thrown me for a loop! I've had to stop my reboot, had to have something in my stomach for pain meds - they have irritated my stomach to no end! Hopefully to restart back soon!

I remember having back pain when i slim down first time around. I think it is because our body needs to adjust to weight loss. Our posture needs to be corrected because we hold weight differently. I think yoga and strengthen core will help tremendously.

Not sure what the problem is. I think it is related to picking up 7 acres worth of downed limbs from Hurricane Issac! I am faithful about working out and have good core strength, just think I over did it! Anyway - off to the chiropractor this am to get put back in line! Then back to my reboot! Have a great day everyone! Stay strong! Stay on plan!

Default Reboot...

Hello all!
I'm on day 2 of reboot...
I maintained goal and under for 9 months and then went on a cruise :-) Gained 6lbs on the cruise and per the office scale +4 more before weigh-in on Saturday. My scale at home still says only +5.2.

I hope this comes off quickly because I already miss my oatmeal for breakfast...so filling!

Hope everyone on a reboot is successful.
