Default I know I know, I'm sure there's a thread out there....

Hi all,

I'm new to this whole shebang..I'm currently sifting through alllll of the threads to figure out what alternative protein powders I can buy, bars, supplements, the works...I know the answers are out there, just buried deep down in the midst of conversations..

MY question is...I only want to lose maybe, 20, maybe even 30lbs...I was reading that Phase I it has to be a minimum of 2 weeks, but I'm only supposed to be on it for what? 80%-90% of my weight loss?

Would I just end up being on the diet for far too long and end up losing more weight than I bargain for? Though, losing the extra weight would be grand, I'm trying not to lose too much weight for my frame.

I'm really lost at the time being on the whole diet..thankfully I know some friends/family who are currently on it..I'm just not rich enough to afford to go on the real deal all by myself at the moment so I'm looking into alternatives and then worried I may lose more than I'd like

so are you trying to do IP or are you just looking to do your version with all alternatives?

I'm doing IP through a clinic, my goal is 30 pounds and they say that that should happen somewhere around 10 weeks (you know, give or take)
I don't think you have to worry about withering away. When you get to the weight you want, phase off no big deal.

I wouldn't worry about loosing too much. Generally the closer you get to goal the slower the weight loss is anyway. My daughter started IP only wanting to loose 30 pounds and she has been on phase 1 for the entire time. She doesn't plan on switching to phase 2 till she is at goal. She only has five more pounds to go till she even reaches goal, but trying to get off those last five pounds has been extremely difficult for her, so truthfully I wouldn't worry about loosing too much.

The most recent guidelines I was given were for 100% of weight loss on Phase 1. I don't think you will lose your weight to goal in less than 2 weeks. The diet does work, but that would be incredibly fast weight loss!

It took me two months to lose 20 pounds on my first time doing IP, so you might be on IP for around 2-3 months. I lost very slow since I didn't have much to lose in the first place.
