Spending all that money is part of my motivation.
I agree that spending all of that money is certainly motivating, I just don't have that much either way. I think I will continue to buy them off of my the former IPer for $2 a packet and some alternatives. Maybe I'll check out the clinic over the summer when I can work more hours.

My only concern is that I have not been able to find exactly the same supplements. I've read the alternatives thread and no one (to my knowledge) has given the actual name of alternative supplements that are very close to the IP ones. The ones I've found have very different levels for certain vitamins/minerals. If anyone knows of any, please let me know!

Danafromaustin, thanks for the input. I must have an outdated sheet. It says 7oz. Maybe that extra little bit will help curb my appetite!

Thanks guys!!!!
Main advice. Don't get discouraged. I'm sure Wuv will come on and say that with all her great advice. She supported me when I was feeling like you and discouraged. Your body has to adjust to all of this. Sounds like changing B/C has really shocked your body. It is just trying to adjust, to everything. Give it time. I, for one, was really guilty of being impatient with the program. We want to be at our goal, now. We will get there. As Wuv has said in the past, DON'T COMPARE YOURSELF TO OTHERS. You are you. That's being self destructive. Like you said, you're happy since you didn't gain. That's a big hooray. Don't give up stick to the program. It will all work out.

I dont have a coach - my friend Owns the spa where I go. Weighing in keeps me accountable but you guys here keep me motivated and give me strength to stay strong. It could be so easy to falll off the wagon but this time I don't want to. I want to see it through for once. I've been on WW, Bernstein, herbal magic you name it - IP works!

Another question - my spa tells me that they just got new updated training and you're allowed 10oz of meat/protein a day - can anyone confirm?

I recently reported that my almost 2 year old daughter who had been on a 6 month veggie strike started eating broccoli again, aka baby tree. As a result of my faithful consumption of cauliflower as part of IP she has now officially announced that white baby trees are not only an acceptable, but also yummy addition to our chicken or fish for dinner. One happy baby and one victorious IP Mama! No more cooking of separate dinners, yay! Only some extra carbs for the little one and we're set!

Love those NSVs!

Default Encouragement

Thanks everyone for faithfully posting! I was doing really well and had lost about 11 pounds, then I gave myself an excuse for a day, which turned into a week. Now we're in the middle of a crisis and and all the old coping mechanisms are back! Overeating, as if it would solve the crisis! You're motivation will get me going again tomorrow!

I did get the notice about increased protein, but it was 8 oz for meat and fish. Is it going up again to 10?

I have had several weigh-ins over the past year where I didn't loose anything, or I went up. Sometimes it was water, or being constipated. I didn't cheat at all for 10 months, and it still happened. Around Christmas I did have some sugar-free peanut clusters. I have had a couple of cheats since. But, I learned to keep plowing ahead. Somehow, I've managed to loose 145 pds. Our bodies can be so variable, and I just keep telling myself 'I want this...I want my life back' over and over and my determination and creativity kicks back in. That, and reading posts from you amazing people. )

So, hang in there - it is worth it!!!! You are worth it!

Hi Everyone,

My birthday is on the weekend and my mom has planned to have the family for brunch. I will have some scrambled egg whites, but I was wondering if turkey bacon would be a rare acceptable protein? I love turkey bacon and because it is high in sodium I have stayed away from it with IP. Being able to have the turkey bacon would be a treat and would help me stay away from the homefries, waffles, sausage, baked beans etc. etc. etc

My dh and I have turkey bacon on one weekend morning and it has not been an issue.

I also dice turnip and fry it with some green onions. A little salt n pepper and it's just like hash browns!
