Purple Sky (I just love your name...it makes me want to paint a purple sky) I was thinking the same thing that this will have to be a lifestyle change for me. Thanks for saying this I needed to hear it again!!!

I also would LOVE to hear what books you have been reading. I'm an avid reader, I am in school right now and haven't had a chance to read as many books as I'd like, but I ALWAYS have a stack of books waiting to be read next to my bed I have about 20 books but I'm always up for more books...bring it on

~alaskastarr aka Shelia
Okay, these are reference books so they are not good reading. The New Whole Foods Encyclopedia by Rebecca Woods

Oh, I need to explain that I will often see alternative healers over medical doctors when I have actual pains. So, these books have alternative healing leanings.

The other is Healing with Whole Foods by Paul Pitchford.

So, some of the stuff in these books might make sense. Some might feel out there.

Plan-D: The Amazing Anti-Diet That Will Change Your Life Forever by Dee McCaffrey really spoke to me. I found some of her videos online. She explained the process to turn wheat into bread or things like cereal. Wheat has nutrients (if you are not gluten sensitive) but they are stripped out and vitamins have to be added back into the cereals so we can give it to kids. She recommned sprouted wheat. I like it. It's a little nuttier bread. She really understand the science behind nutrition. Sometimes I feel like the way bread rises before baking is the way my tummy would rise after eating it.

This one is about the benefits of probiotics but she has a dramatic title. Bacteria for Breakfast: Probiotics for Good Health by Dr. Kelly Dowhower Karpa. That is one thing I miss on the diet. I may have to add a good probiotic in.

There is also a movie/video called Food Matters. Now, with things like this I am sometimes on the fence because there often seems to be an agenda and I, personally, am not a big fan of raw foods. I get it but it's just not my scene. Raw foodists are way too hard on meat eaters although I understand where they are coming from.

I love that we are learning more about the impact of food on our lives and sometimes simply eliminating certain foods from our diets give us the most fantastic benefits.

Angelique,
You should be VERY PROUD of yourself for this accomplishment with your weight loss!! Well done and what a nice thing to do with your clothes.

Thanks Wuv!! I didn't realize the difference with taking it one day, one meal at a time and then suddenly I feel like a new woman. I will get Yvette to take a new pic this weekend, she told me it was time for a new Pic! )

Thank you! I have never given my clothes away in the past always thinking the weight would come back. I decided this time is different and the clothes got to go since the lbs are never to be seen again!

Wuv- Your bike is precious!! Be glad you rode today, cause the rain is coming your way! And congrats on today's WI! You are so inspiring! Thank you so much for being part of this thread and giving everyone such inspiration!

Emily- Good luck on your new job!

Kelly- Congrats on your first WI!!

Angelique- Wonderful idea to donate the old clothes to the diabetes program! Doesn't it feel great to get rid of them... and to a good cause!

Salmongirl- LOVE the quote! made me feel great!

Pamelama- Congrats on the 32# so far!

I know I'm missing someone... but congrats to everyone else's WI and NSV!!

Glad to hear all the great valentine's day stories. We went to Zea's with my whole family. It was a struggle to find something on the menu that would fit into IP. I only had 2 options and only one choice for sides! BUT... I did it! I couldn't have done it without thinking of you all... and what y'all would have said if I slipped up.
Thanks to everyone fo rthe amazing support here!
