WOOOOHOOOOOO!! congrats... that's awesome!

I had a great NSV a few minutes ago too... I bought a pair of jeans in a size 30 from Ebay awhile ago because they were my fav brand and cheap. I couldn't get them up over my hips though. I tried them on just now and they fit!! I am so happy... the scale hasn't been moving very much for me lately and this was the encouragement I needed.

This week I had a mini break thru. I read rollercoast's post about how she has been on it a year and then I went to pack my suitcase to get ready for a trip. Seems like I was short on jeans since I gave all my larger sizes away last year and now I am down to one pair that fits. I went shopping mainly because I need more pants. I went to the same store where I had bought my size 10's that fit and actually cried when they did fit....a year ago. I hadn't worn a 10 since high school and was so happy. In the same dressing room this year, I had to buy a 14. I was so upset with myself for letting this happen that it made me MAD! Now I am determined after trying on clothes. Also, twice now my mom has tried to give me back clothes that I gave her when I was thinner saying to me.....I think they will fit you again. Over the top with determination now. I'm NOT going back to my pre IP weight. I'm going down to goal this time.

I also started thinking about food differently. I started comparing my body to a car. In my car I only put good fuel in it and change the oil and take care of it. Was I doing that to my body? Nope. I wouldn't add bad things to my car so why was I doing it to my body?

I also have nothing to cheat with in the house. Not even a cracker. That has helped also. Three days now without a cheat and boy does it feel good.

Wishing you success!
I really LIKE what you had to say. Your honesty in how hard it has been to re-start and your new committment. I come here to read because I am afraid to take a "break" or cheat because I feel I would have the same problem restarting. Fortunately I haven't had any compulsion to do so yet. But it seems like it would be harder in maintenance. It is posts like this that give me the strength to stay the course so I thank you. Glad you are doing well now.

Really stugglong this week. Not really hungry but wanting to "snack" have made a couple of bad choices but did not let them derail me. I have tried many new veggies this week. I made kale chips, turnip fries and cauliflower rice. I really liked them all. But I have felt very bloated and the big C has been an issue. I weighed in today and had a .2 gain. I know that is not bad but it is not a loss . I talked to my coach and decided that it may be because I have been getting my veggies but not much lettuce since I am getting tired of salad. Here is to a better week and stronger will power! Hope everyone is doing well and congrats on the NSVs and great WI.

Are you absolutely, absolutely, absolutely sure you're getting enough oil? And hopefully at least 12-15 g of fiber? 25 would be better but that's impossible without taking a lot of supplements. Just to make sure you are getting enough oil you might re-read Pat's observationsl.

Taking a page from her book I've been getting close to a T of oil a day since I stopped Boot Camp. Down below 150 today for the first time since I've been on the program. And still taking 2 different pain killers a day.

I also got my act together yesterday and entered my original measurements and yesterday's into the excel sheets Backdrop S put together. So even though I've only lost 35 pounds (over 15 of it TWICE!), I'm down 43.5 inches. If you want a real incentive to continue, I sure recommend this one. Strongly.

I'm so silly... 100% OP all week and haven't been to the REAL bathroom for two days. I've spent the last 30 minutes trying to guesstimate what the weight loss will be for a good trip to the BR. Without that number I've lost 6 pounds this week. That is a wonderful loss and I'm ashamed for trying to finagle my numbers and my body to wrangle out another few ounces. KK I feel better now. YAY 1st full week back OP and I lost 6 pounds.

I actually am not sure I have been getting the oil in. I use oil to make kale chips and roast veggies but have not been adding it to my salads. I did last night. I will work harder to make sure I get it in. I did not realize it would hurt to cut that "fat" out. My coach decided not to measure me this week because I felt so bloated and I think she did not want meto have another week of poor inch loss. My clothes don't seem to be looser even with 9 pounds lost so far. I also had to buy some more of the vit and minerals so I will get back to takimg those regularly. I will go back and review Pat's info. Congratulations on your great inch loss! I too am losing the same weight over again! I am not going to give up. I CAN and WILL do this again!

6 pounds is so wonderful! Way to go! Funny how our minds work huh? don't be ashamed, just recognise how warped our sense of accomplishment can be and give yourself permission to celebrate every positive no matter how small. Ihave to celebrate the small steps since those are what my body seems to offer

OMG! Six pounds is fantastic. AND I think oil might be in your future, too. Hey, I'm not kidding here. Did you cut your hair? It kind of looks like it in your new picture. I sure hope not. It's so .

And Ms S, I don't fully understand the science but going by empirical evidence I think consistently getting at least 2 T a day works. Dr Chanh recommends 1 T in his book, if I recall correctly.

Edit: About loose clothes. I'm still wearing the same clothes I came to Germany in. Granted what I wear is Knit turtle neck sweaters and jerseys plus Chico's and Talbot's skirts with elastic waist bands. Very useful, very adaptable. And economical. They don't get much looser, just more form fitting -- and longer.

You all are so good for my psyche... I've embraced what you said and allowed myself to enjoy my loss... 6 pounds only comes along on WI1 then drops down, as we all know and then come those weeks that we think we've failed because there is no loss at all... Sometimes for weeks... but then comes the wonderful series of weeks with consistent loss. Voila... Smaller pants,

No I haven't cut my hair. Smile. Actually, true story, the doc subtracts an extra 5 pounds from my weigh in when I go - for my hair. LOL. The new pix is actually me at about my heaviest, three years ago. I am trying to remember to put on the same outfit and have DH retake the same pose. I wonder if it will look any different... Like you Linden, I can lose 30 pounds and still wear the same size. Smile. My most current pix is on my public user profile. Taken at Christmas, two of the kids are mine. Can you guess who? At 40-50 lbs my size begins to change too. That change is what I am trying to get back too.

DH and I are to attend the Shepherd's Maternity Home fund raiser banquet tomorrow. We went last year but I weighed 30 pounds more then than now. NSV! Smile. We also go to the Valentine's Dinner Dance next weekend. Same thing, 30 pounds less than last year. I winder if I'll dance better. LOL!

Snowing here now. Maybe that will be my goal for next year... To ski again. Yeah. Have a great weekend All. Smile.

Lots of interesting reading today!!

So much I could have written myself. I too come and read on these threads all the time to remind myself not to stop till I reach my goal. My reason is that I never want to got through detox again with the week of massive migraines. But the real reason I keep reading in this section is that i learn so much.

Maycat, I can see a big difference in your profile picture and the picture here. But you look so happy in this one. In your Christmas picture everyone and his/her dog looks happy! Happy people are so attractive.

The other thing I can really relate to is the losing 30 pounds and still wearing the same size. This is quite strange at 5'1". I read people's stats all the time who are not much taller than me and much heavier who wear much smaller sizes.
I started at 14 petite, but likely could have given in and worn a 16. It took forever to get to a petite 12, I think when I weighed in the 140s.

Then I discovered the oil connection and lost 5 pounds in 3 weeks. Still wearing 12 petite. Then this week I stayed the same again, 132. I was a bit annoyed because I thought the oil connection was the magic bullet. But I suddenly realized I had several inches to spare in my waistbands. So when the pounds don't go down the inches come off.

So about the oil. As Sweetie said I also thought I was getting my oil in because I was using it in cooking. For my salad dressing I was using the WF individual packages because they are so convenient to take with my lunch.
Then I suddenly realized I was only having losses after I ate out. I always asked for oil and vinegar on my salad. also when I eat out a favorite meal is steak and steamed broccoli with salad.
So I started measuring out my oil and using it in salad dressing and my losses picked up. But I realized I had always selected very low fat protein sources so had pork cops and steak a couple of times a week.
Well enough about me!!

Linden how is you injury coming along??? I hope you will be up to snuff by the time you go to Paris.

I hope everyone has a great week and does well with weight and more importantly health.

Oh, Wheat Bellyis finally available on kindle so I downloaded that.

I pat

Linden and Pat thanks for all the info and encouragement. I am going to a birthday party this afternoon. I am making my OP plans! I am lucky because one of the ladies that will be there is also in Phase 1 so we can eat the same things. My DH actually told me today that he has noticed my tushie is smaller! That made me feel better since I have felt that nothing had changed. ( I had not told him about how I had been feeling or my small gain this week) Have a great weekend everyone!!! I posted on the daily chat that I can finally get a signature but it is not working for some reason. If anyone has any tricks I would love to know! I have really looked forward to getting one!

Me too. But I don't know. Pain killers certainly are effective. Brain is numbed, but not the pain. 'Course it could be the effect of 6 hours of Wagner from the Met. I've just realized that Brunhilde's immolation was about as meaningful as the immolation scene from The Fantasticks. I am talking real numb-dumb here. And it's kind of wearing me down.

But I'm glad to hear about the sizes -- not changing. Very interesting in the light of how things change so quickly for tall people.

Hi All... Glad to see some positive results. I'm doing okay here. I think I have 1 night off of dancing in 10 which keeps me moving. I bought my husband a new 42" TV and us a new chaise/recliner combo so we've also been doing a fair amount of rearranging.

This week, I also get to write a ten page paper on hGH. I'm sure that will be some light reading! I know it will be a pain, but the process will really help me sort out some of hormone pieces I've been trying to put together--so the end will be good.

I don't think I've shared it here, but my 14 year old has a huge list of food sensitivities--topping it are casein and eggs, but there are so many more. (44 items our of 133 tested!) She's been trying to do an elimination diet for about 5 months with some success, but things haven't improved as much as we'd hoped. All the other tests that were done came back normal though. Anyway, she and I are going to do a 10 day cleanse (from Advocare) starting the 22nd (Ash Wednesday). I'm hoping that will get both of us onto a good course. Lent is normally a pretty good time for me to get in the mode of doing without.

Anyhow.... keep up the good work!

Hello All,

I've been lurking for a while, waiting for a new coach to begin here in Los Angeles. I don't know if any of you remember, but I had about the worst coach it was possible to have when I started this thing last January. I lasted 8 weeks with her, and then I moved on to doing it on my own and only lasted a few more months. I have finally talked my beloved chiropractor (been going to him for 17 years) into offering IP and he has jumped in with both feet. He lost 20 lbs in 3 weeks! and just attended a big weekend training session in Las Vegas. I started by myself on February 2nd and really started with him on the 7th. I haven't had a big loss - well, 5 lbs, but that's over 10 days. I am simultaneously experiencing a pinched nerve that I get occasionally in my neck/right arm and I've noticed the two nights I took pain meds, my weight was up the next morning. Not much, like half a pound, but it has slowed me down this week. Linden - I remember you posting something about this. Does this make sense? I get my first WI on Monday afternoon, I wanted to have lost more than 1.5 lbs.

So glad you checked in, I was wondering how you were doing. meds do seem to have an effect on weight loss. Good luck with the WI tomorrow.
