I'm pretty sure, remembering back in my Atkins days, that imitation crab has carbs.

I would use canned tuna, salmon but I'd make sure it didn't have flavoring that has carbs. Which is too bad because I love the small tins of tuna with peanut satay sauce and things like that.

I would say no and no. The sodium in the canned meats is high, the food itself is process. Imitation crab is processed fish -- it has carbs, I want to say 3 gm per servings (whereas the purer meats do not). Check the ingredients, I think the crab has fillers and sugar. I have avoided them myself. get real crab!

I'm sticking to my coach's statement: no pre-packaged or canned products other than those from IP...everything else I buy at the store needs to be fresh. So I would not get canned meats unless you really really really needed to have it. Try to find fresh options.

I've had tuna out of the can as my protein on lettuce before and was fine. Guess I didn't know I wasn't suppose to.

My doctor says that can tuna is ok if you rinse it but that is not easy. Most of the salt gets washed away when you rinse it.
