Just found this site the past few days and its been very informative and encouraging! I started IP on Monday and so far so good. I have 75 pounds to lose so a LONG way to go.
My total goal is 70#. I once had that same mentaility thinking I had this unsurmountable feat ahead of me. I set my first mini-goal at 20# and I met it with 2 days to spare! I never thought 70, only 20 the entire time. My next mini-goal is 8# before I head to the beach for a week and I'm already 2.5# closer to meeting that goal. Baby steps and you will get there and be SO PROUD of yourself. Good luck!

Welcome Carrie, This is a great site and great people who will help you ever step of the way. You say you have 60lbs to lose and it will be a LONG haul...I have 135 to lose but I am like gettinginmygrooveback....20lbs at a time....every pound I lose no matter how long it takes me is a pound I don't have to carry around anymore. Baby steps is how we begin, we didn't just start walking right away we had to start small!!

Only One Pound
Hello, do you know me?
If you don't, you should. I'm a pound of fat,
And I'm the HAPPIEST pound of fat that you would ever want to meet.
Want to know why?
It's because no one ever wants to lose me;
I'm ONLY ONE POUND, just a pound!
Everyone wants to lose three pounds, five pounds, or fifteen pounds, but never only one.
So I just stick around and happily keep you fat.
Then I add to myself, ever so slyly, so that you never seem to notice it.
That is, until I've grown to ten, twenty, thirty or even more pounds in weight.
Yes, it's fun being ONLY ONE POUND OF FAT, left to do as I please.
So, when you weigh in, keep right on saying, "Oh, I only lost one pound."
For you see, if you do this, you'll encourage others to keep me around because they'll think I'm not worth losing.
And, I love being around you - your arms, your legs, your chin, your hips and every part of you.
