Default Slow Cooker with IP

I am new to IP, and I was wondering has anyone been using their slow cooker for any of their non ip meals. With working weird hours it would be nice to have it ready when I come home, or even on the weekend. Maybe the veggies cooking would not have the same nutrional value, unless we use some of the broth to eat with. I wonder what kind of broth to use, low fat sodium non fat bouillon I guess. Anyone have any suggestions or experience with this ?

I also use the slow cooker all the time. I teach and am in the middle of play rehearsals, so it's nice to have a meal waiting when I get home. Here is a recipe that I copied from Mrs. Diettrich on one of the recipe threads:
Prep Time: 10Min
Cook Time: 5-6 Hr.
Ready In: 5-6 Hr

Ingredients:

4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. paprika
1 tsp. cayenne pepper
1 tsp. onion powder
1 tsp. thyme
1 tsp. white pepper
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. black pepper
1 roasting chicken
1 c. chopped green onions (optional)

In a small bowl combine the spices. Remove any giblets from chicken and clean chicken (rinse in cold water). Rub spice mixture onto chicken. Place in resealable plastic bag and refrigerate overnight (you can skip this step if in a hurry). When ready to cook, put chopped onion in bottom of crock pot. Add chicken. No additional liquid is necessary - chicken will make its own juices. Cook on low 5-6 hours or on high for 3-4 hrs or until chicken is done.
