Default The Strangest Cravings

hi guys! i thought it would be fun to talk about the weird things that we start to crave that we never really craved before IP.

I'll start...

HAMBURGERS.

i've been a vegetarian for 15 years and never craved any kind of meat. Now for some reason, every time i see a commercial or a billboard with a hamburger on it my mouth starts to water. it's the strangest thing. i can't figure out why, of all things, i would want hamburgers. i thought i would be missing bread or burritos or ice cream or pizza... nope, HAMBURGERS.

now it's your turn. i know i can't be the only one craving something strange. tell me what you crave!!

Ha! i LOVE hamburgers. in fact, they are the only pregnancy food i craved. I'm excited b/c i just got my wf catsup in the mail, and now i can have a lean ground beef patty w/ catsup, mustard, and pickles. but, that's not strange, b/c i always crave hamburgers.

The strange cravings i'm having are the "veggies" i'm not allowed to have. I really want some corn on the cob, or peas and beans of all kinds. I'm really not craving the things i usually crave on a diet.

cute idea for a thread.

My first strange craving was biscuits. I actually hate biscuits. They seem flavorless and boring too me. Suddenly I was wanting something I logically knew I dislike.

The next craving I had was less strange, I actually did like them, beans and quinoa. I couldn't shake that for the longest time.

The third craving was for pancakes. Again, I don't like pancakes. They always made me sick. I was actually dreaming of pancakes at one point.

The final craving I had was for peanut butter. I always had liked peanuts but, never peanut butter.

It will be interesting this round to see what cravings come my way.

What I am really craving is some of my Nanny's pickled beets. What is killing me is I have 4 jars here at home waiting till I reach my goal and can have them again. I also crave a Donair, my wife says I should just try and create a recipe that would taste like a donair.

Okay, I give...what's a Donair? I'm having a similar issue with a jar of pickle relish that my mom made. Other than that all my cravings are the same as pre-IP: cheese, fruit and fresh baked bread.

It is like a Greek Gyro but instead of lamb as the meat it is beef. The meat is sliced from a loaf cooked on a vertical spit, made from a combination of ground beef, flour or bread crumbs, and various spices. The sweet sauce is made from evaporated milk, sugar, vinegar, and garlic. The meat and sauce are served rolled in a flat-bread pita with diced tomato and onion.

pancakes seem like a great thing to crave, even if you don't like them, since you can actually eat pancakes on IP. did you give in back then and eat the IP pancakes?

I crave for a slushie on a freezing cold MB day -34) and I NEVER drink slushies!! I also crave for pancakes, I make them for my son on the weekend, oh how I miss sharing them with him. The crepes are just not the same and I haven't tried the chocolate pancake, yet.

I will see what I can do for a recipe. I have an idea for the meat but the problem I have is a replacement to use for a can of evaporated milk. what effects would 1 cup of low fat yogurt used in the sauce harm someone on phase 1. Keep in mind you wouldn't be using all the sauce you make for one meal.

Thank you for the comments and yes pickled beets were one of my favorite things to eat with a meal before I went on IP. I would go through like a jar a month.

A good substitute for donair sauce that i used to use is plain yogurt and cayenne pepper.
