  • I've heard of several people making stir frys with soy sauce as well as adding them to the noodles. I wasn't sure if there was an IP soy sauce or if there was a particular brand that was 0/0/0. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Not totally sure on this....but tamari??? I think if you are using soy sauce you should switch to low sodium for sure.
  • I use a low sodium soy sauce never really looked at label if it was 0/0/0 but used in moderation it hasn't effected my weight loss.
  • I also use the low sodium soy sauce...it hasn't affected my weight loss. The candy and chips has but not the soy sauce =)
  • I used soy sauce the first month or two and switched to tamari (love it taste like yummyer soy sauce). I use it several times a week and I have lost 58 pounds in four months. It is on the phase one sheet as okay to have.
  • Someone from this forum put me onto Braggs Amino Acids, it is soya sauce without all the salt. I love love love it. Slightly different flavor mostly just not as strong. In fact my supper every night is a salad with chicken that has been cooked in Braggs. Try a small bottle I am sure you will like it.

I also tried the Braggs after hearing about here. I really do love it!

Just a question for my clarification...doesn't Bragg's Amino Acids have carbs. I love the stuff but thought I couldn't use it on this diet -- if I can that would be a great NSV for me
  • http://www.bragg.com/products/la.html This page has the nutritional info on Bragg's amino acids at the bottom of the page.

It appears there is 100 mg of carbs and 320 mg of protein for 1/2 teaspoon of the liquid. Therefore 10 servings would equal 1 gram or 5 teaspoons would equal 1 gram. There are 3 teaspoons in one tablespoon.

My Aloha low sodium soy sauce shows >1 gram carb for 1 tablespoon and 0 protein. I even dilute the low sodium soy sauce with water and still get a lot of flavor from it.
  • Thanks guys, I bought the Tamari last night and made a stir fry with beef tenderloin, bac choy and lettuce. Super yummy!!
  • this is just a question what is bac choy and are we allowed to have it on phase one?
  • Sorry I spelled it wrong it's bok choy. Which is a Chinese cabbage. It's on my allowed list and I'm on phase one.

Where do you live? I'm in Hilo, until Sunday (God willing, and Newark Airport is open, and there are no new storms in Berlin.)
  • I've been told soy sauce is okay. I did find a szechuan sauce 0,0,0 at the same health food place I get the Walden Farms. So I'm using less soy sauce.

On the soy sauce CHECK your labels. I have found that the lower sodium or lite has more carbs than the regular! Someone told me that when they remove the sodium they add sugar for flavor!
