Default Any Vegetarian IP'ers out there?

I am a vegetarian on the program and find that my experience (in my first week) is different than most of you who are able to eat meat. I use another "packet" in place of my protein meal each day so I don't feel like I am getting the variety most will have with this (i.e. chicken, fish, turkey etc..). I am curious to see how other vegetarians are doing their programs and "spicing it up" for variety.

I have searched the posts but do not find any. If any of you have come across a IP'er in the past and can remember their name, I would be happy do do a search...

Thanks! Janet

Not sure what type of vegetarian you are, but if you eat eggs, that's an extra way to get protein. I would ask your coach but I'd imagine you could replace meat with tofu or maybe even a soy burger.

And remember, a lot of recipes taste good with or without meat... like stir fry. Yum! Check the recipe threads, there are great things with veggies. Have you tried cauliflower mashed potatoes or zucchini fries? Hope you get some good ideas!

Try searching through Novak's posts. I think she's a vegetarian. Regardless, her posts were always straight forward and full of lots of good info. She hasn't posted in awhile, but she's a true IP success story.

I think Birkman (Birman - a name somewhat along these lines) was a veggy also.

Good luck to you on your journey!

Look for posts by ogdog ( I think a pescatarian), birman (vegetarian), and maybe, xanthia. I know there were a few others. They tended to post their tips in the alternate IP thread which started in January of 2010. There were a few posts prior to that but it picked up a following and got a dedicated thread at the start of the year. Many of those posts are not true IP protocol. They also tend to use more of the soy products and meat alternative products. Depending on the person, some lost well that way and others barely lost. It seemed to be a try it and see thing.

I know it is possible to do this plan as a vegetarian but NOT as a vegan. I believe your coach can give you information about a vegetarian approach to this.

Outside of the two recipes threads, these might have the most references or information about/for vegatarian approaches.
