Default When Should Vitamins and Supplements Be Taken?

Hi,
I was told by my clinic to take all of vitamins and supplements all at the same time (in the morning) but common sense tells me that there is no way all of these could be absorbed properly by doing this. I am in Phase 1 week 4.

I take the following:
Cal/Mag-4
Potassium-2
Catalyn-6
Trace Minerals-B12- 2

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You!
Donna

I'm not sure what's in your trace minerals but I know calcium and iron should not be taken together but at least 2 hours apart because iron prevents absorption of calcium.

And if your calcium supplements total more than 600 mg you have to split the doses through the day because you can't absorb more than 600 mg at one time.

The way we are supposed to take them, as is on the protocol sheet, is:

1 potassium in the morning at breakfast
1 multi vitamin in the morning at breakfast

2 calcium with dinner
1 multi vitamin with dinner

2 calcium with evening snack or before bed if your snack is earlier

our calcium is not dependent on being taken with food.

You want the calcium/magnesium at night to help with sleep and muscle cramps/twitches.

If you choose to supplement iron, NEVER take Iron and Calcium in the same 2 hour space. It will more or less cancel out.

If you are using them:

Omega's and anti oxy should be taken at the same time and with meals

Enzymes should be taken with dinner

Thank you all for the advice!!

My protocol sheet says what I should take but not at what time.
Seems crazy we all get different info doesn't it? But.... it is what it is.☼

What enzymes can we take that are protocol?

Is Vitanox considered anti oxy's? If so does anyone take them and do they have any side effects?

Thanks again.

IP has it's own essential enzymes or you can take your own. They are not required. I use a product by source naturals.

I am unfamiliar with Vitanox.

Hi Carla,
Do you also have a substitute for the Fat-Sugar formula?

I hate to say it but, I don't know what the Fat-Sugar formula is. Is it a natura product? I haven't seen it at my clinic. Can you give me some details about it? What does it do?

It's one of the supplements I had to buy when I started. It is the Optimal [Health Systems, OHS, Pima, Arizona] Fat - Sugar Formula. It contains mcgs of zinc, selenium, copper, mangenese, cromium, 625 LUs of lipase, 360 mg of garlic, and 75 mg of natural vitamin E. It's intended to help with the digestion of fat and suga.

Well, as far as I know, it is not a required product for Ideal Protein and is not an Ideal Protein product. It could be something they have approved for a clinic to co-offer. It could be just something your clinic prefers for clients. (That happens.)

I don't have a substitute for that item.

Interesting. Maybe that's why it took her 2 1/2 weeks to answer my question about it.
