Sorry, but I'm with your coach. Salsa has to have sugars if it has tomatoes in it. Using USDA calculations, 100 grams of generic salsa has 3.06 grams of sugar/100 grams total weight. 27 calories; 1.54 protein; .16 fat; 6.26 carbs' 1.6 fiber; and 1.59 starch. The starch is as scary as the sugars.
What the label indicates is that the manufaturrer hasn't added any sugars.
