Okay, I truly am up 2lbs this week. I'm really dissappointed in myself, but I need to be honest. This is proof to those who are considering cheating that one small cheat can really set you back, so don't bother testing the waters. I've been really strict since Sunday so I hope to see some positive changes by next Tuesday.
I'm trying not to beat myself up, but stupid mistakes are stupid mistakes. I keep seeing people with a little bit here and a little bit there with no repercussions but for me obviously it isn't the same. I'm going to have a stellar week and then see how my body reacts.

I wouldn't be so sure that there are no consequences for "a little bit here and a little bit there." Transgressions may not appear to disrupt weight loss, though the number of pounds lost over time is often quite telling. And the extent to which a person goes in and out of ketosis may very well affect the therapeutic value of the diet, and body's ability to be "retrained" in Phase 3.
My brother-in-law started out strong, then went rogue. He's lost 34 pounds and thinks he's awesome, but that was over 3 months. He's a guy... he should have lost twice that. When he doesn't cheat, he drops the weight quickly. But then he drinks, strays from the plan and claims he's following it (really?? hot chocolate???), uses prohibited ingredients liberally when cooking... then he loses nothing or gains, until he goes back on plan.
He's pretty much uncoachable these days, because he's seen enough success to think he knows it all. The good part is that he HAS lost, and that he has made some changes in his diet that will likely be long-term, which has to have benefits. But I don't think he'll manage to pull off Phase 3, and his ability to manage his weight in Phase 4 will then be compromised. He has health issues, so it is frustrating for my sister and me, but you can only do so much to save someone from himself!
Anyway, hang in and get it done.

I know that when you change your diet and start having sucralose or any sweetner, even sugar, when you usually don't have it, some how I get an itchy yeast infection?. I am taking Culterelle tablets( good flora) and using the monostat, drinking more water... also I am very constipated ( I told you it was personal) Geesh, I feel like I am giving birth! My Endocrinologist always told me to take 2 colace( stool softener gel tabs) for every calcium tablet.. I checked no sugars in them.. Also I am taking 2 mag citrate tablets before bed with glass of water as coach suggested. I even tried 1 teaspoon of unprocessesd bran in my pudding... I have NEVER had a problem before, went daily with no problems....

Have you tried Miralax? That's what I've been using and it works well!

thank you again, it feels so humbling to hear you say that i am not perfect and i screw up a lot, but it does motivate me to stick to this when i hear that i help people see their goals in plain sight
and can i just say that i think you look amazing right now??
|
Thanks! That's actually me 10 pounds over my goal weight. I really don't like to see pictures of myself now, so that's the closest I've got!

And a scarf. You can't be seen without a scarf. Silk or something equally light or frothy -- 8-12" wide by 5' long. Fold it in two lengthwise, put the two loose ends through the loop, and let then dangle gracefully.
I'm sure this fashion has hit the states by now but the only times I've been on the mainland in the last year were in international airports and Kingsport, TN. Not a really good bases for viewing haute or even casual couture.

Taylor - the yellow box flip flops look identical to the Eliza B's I have worn for years. I love flip flops. But I did order some flats from the yellow box website so
thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks ALL of you. I love this help! Wish you were here to dress me-- you'd be better than What Not to Wear's Stacey and Clinton I bet. Rocky Monarch & Linden, I am really going with the skirt, tights and scarf idea. We were in Rome during the horrible heat wave in August a couple of years ago. Hope September in Tuscany will not be like that. Also, we are moving around a lot so I need light, easy outfits. Can't take 10 pairs of shoes either. :-( and I need to save room for shopping while I'm there! You are ALL wonderful. Did I say thanks? Going to check out more of the shoe suggestions now.

Great job!! You're doing so well - I must admit I'm not too fond of WF dressings either, but I've only tried a few "flavors" so far. Yesterday I just put a little sea salt on my lunch salad, and it wasn't too bad. I like adding my meat to my evening salad - makes it much tastier!
I haven't had any of those looks yet from other people, but my husband is definitely noticing!!
As my boss's travel agent always says: "You're a STAR!"
Have a fabulous week!!

So, I started a new job today and I had to go shopping for some scrubs to wear to work. I bought size M pants!! They were a tiny bit snug, but I think they will be perfect in a few weeks.
I hope everyone has a wonderful and successful week!

Way to go!! Aren't scrubs so comfortable? I was able to wear them at two of my previous jobs and they're so nice!!

My coach encourages us to use this Calm powder - actually came in the starter package - I'll have to look to see what the full name is. The directions say twice a day, but I only use it once a day. It definitely cleans me out!!

Sorry for all the posts in a row - I should have used the multiple post tool . . .
My scales said another pound gone this morning and I'm still wearing a size down. Isn't it amazing how color changes how a pair of capris fit? I wore the same size and style in black yesterday, but the tan ones today are a little snug around the middle. It just shows that you can't pin all your hopes on size tags!!
Anyhoo, I have my 2nd weigh/measure today after work. My husband and I were planning to go to the track this morning, but he had a bad night last night (rolling and tossing and SNORING! )) that neither of us slept very well - maybe we can do better tomorrow.
Hope everyone has a terrific day!!

Caveats: Not a senior member, not a recent sufferer of either the big "Y" or the big "C"
Probiotics often help both problems. I had a yeast problem a couple of years ago and found high doses of the acidophilus and bifidus really helpful. Have you tried doubling or tripling your Culturelle?
Have you looked at "prebiotics" as well? They're essentially the food for the good bacteria.
Vitamin C in high doses (think grams not milligrams) causes the opposite problem, the big "D". It's actually a common cold cure suggested by some naturopaths I've seen: Take vitamin C at 1000 mg 3x per day; every day, increase each dose by 1000 mg (or 500 mg) until the big "D" occurs, then scale back.
Instead of bran, you might consider psyllium husks. They're much less scratchy on your gut. I picked up a bag of them from a health food store; I can't recall what I paid but it wasn't much. I imagine the US chains of Trader Joes, Whole Foods carry them. Probably small local stores will have psyllium as well.
