Smile Holiday appetizers

Easy Meatballs
Makes 24 meatballs @ 1 pt per meatball

Ingredients:


1 pound ground turkey
1/4 cup bread crumbs
1/4 cup egg substitute or 1 egg


Directions:

Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl.Shape mixture into 24 balls.

Bake in a cooking pan in the oven until meatballs are no longer pink in the middle.

Drain off/pat any excess fat off meatballs then transfer them to a large pot. Add a jar of your favourite spaghetti sauce (or homemade sauce) to the pot and let the sauce and meatballs simmer over medium-low heat for about 10 minutes.

Or you can put them in a crockpot or chafing dish to serve hot on a buffet table.

Per serving: 37 Calories (kcal); 2g Total Fat; (48% calories from fat);
4g Protein; 1g Carbohydrate; 15mg Cholesterol; 32mg Sodium

Default Seasoned Rice Chex Party mix

Ingredients:

3 cups Rice Chex
3 cups Corn Chex
3 cups Cheerios
3 cups pretzels
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons butter-flavored sprinkles
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
1/2 teaspoon onion powder

Directions:

In a 15 x 10-inch baking pan, combine cereals and pretzels. Lightly coat with nonstick cooking spray; drizzle with Worcestershire sauce.

Combine the remaining ingredients and sprinkle over cereal mix. Bake at 200 degrees F for 1 1/2 hours, stirring every 30 minutes.

Cool completely. Store in airtight container.

Serving size: 1 cup @ 2 Points per serving

Default Spiced almonds

Makes 16 servings @ 3points per 1/4 cup serving



Ingredients:

1 egg white
2 tablespoons water
4 cups almonds
3/4 cup Splenda
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 1/4 teaspoons ground cinnamon



Directions:

Preheat oven to 250 degrees F (120 degrees C).
Beat egg white with water. Add nuts and stir until moist. Drain.
Combine dry ingredients, mixing well. Add nuts and stir until coated.
Spread nuts on lightly greased baking sheet.

Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cool completely before storing in airtight container.
