Thanks for sharing your story. It is amazing to see how you have maintained for so long. I am so thankful to have found this site. I was nearly brought to tears as I saw so many similarities in your story. For so long I have been right on the brink of just giving up. Every success story that I read reaffirms the fact that I CAN DO THIS!

Loved reading your story! So many things you mentioned are also true of me so it really spoke to me. I'm still struggling with binging on some foods...and I still have a very hard time resisting junk food. If it's not around I do fine, but if it's around me it's difficult. Can't wait to be where you are. I'll check out the superfoods book. Heard about it but never read it. Thanks for sharing. You look great!!

Thanks so much for sharing your journey. I'm three weeks into a change in my eating that I plan to do for life. I'm basically following SugarBusters, which ends up looking a whole lot like the eating that you describe. I was so encouraged to read your list of superfoods and realized that I'd eaten from seven of the groups today.

Glory, thanks for sharing your story. I've just started to tackle my overweight (200lbs) and hearing about how you did it gives me a lot of hope because I don't think I can stick to the commercial diet I'm on (Medifast) for very long, but I am willing to give up junk and I love all the Super Foods, so I've ordered the book and am going to commence shopping & planning as soon as it arrives.

I hope I can post a success story like yours someday!

Wow - you are all inspirational! This is a great story.

My hubby and I are just starting the no sugar/white plan. My question is about raw honey - is this considered a "no"?

Also - did you have certain recipes that you used or websites for meal ideas? Or did you just adapt current recipes?

Thanks!
Christy

Hey Christy - sorry I didn't see this post until now!

Just my opinion, but I think raw honey is fine as long as you keep the calorie count in mind.

Hmmm, I usually use the internet to find good recipes. The maintainer's forum also has a "recipes we love" that I have used and contributed to:

Thank you for taking the time to put that all together! It's so validating! So many of the things you list here are sooo important and changes I've tried to make as well. Congrats on your accomplishment and your maintenance! :)
