Your 2 most important things.....

  • I am looking for advice from those of you who have reached your goal(s)...what would you say were/are the 2 most important factors or behaviors that helped you get to goal?

    Thank you soooo much !
  • Desire and commitment, basically mental strength.
  • Consistency.....if you slip up one day, don't throw in the towel. Ge back up and eat clean the next day

Exercise....it helps to keep you focused and also helps how you look when the weight is all gone.
  • Tracking my intake to gauge my progess, not getting on the scale. Maximum I got on the scale was once a month and did not weigh at all for first 72 days. BUT I was tracking my calories so knew my body had to let the fat go even if it wasn't a direct correlation with the scale.
  • Don’t lie to yourself and get rid of the perfection attitude. Many times before I would not journal because I did not want to face what I had ate that day or week so almost like if I don’t see it written down it did not happen.....don’t allow yourself to live that way. If you eat crazy one day acknowledge it, why did I do it? Was it a planned splurge or something impulsive/emotional? And learn from it don’t beat yourself up but start fresh the next day.

For me I am a perfectionist so I would always give up if I could not run a full mile, or if I could not meet my ultimate pants size, it was never good enough so why try. Instead take pride in every goal you meet, and think long term it is journey, keep moving forward everyday and make each day a little better....i.e. today I will eat more veggies, not have a glass of wine, work out an extra 10 min. and before you know it you look back and made it further than you ever thought you could.
  • I think so too.
  • 1. I realized that I had to eat healthy and manage my calorie intake not just to lose weight but for the rest of my life. So I decided to eat anything I wanted (except creatures as I am vegetarian); nothing was forbidden in moderation, so I never got cravings. My motto was "Eat less and move more".

    2. I wrote myself a letter about why I wanted to be slim & posted it in my bedroom. I read it every morning for inspiration. I put yellow stickies with quotes from wise 3FC posters various places in my house to remind me of my goals and keep me on track. It prevented an all-or-nothing approach; every hour of every day was an opportunity to correct problems as they occurred and if need be get back on track.

All the best to you and everyone else on the path to their desired weight and optimum health.
  • Not quite at goal yet but...

    1. find a good plan that fits into your life.

    2. stick to it!
  • Definitely consistency. I don't really believe in any sort of days off. If I wanted something treat-like, I fit it into my calories. I really like the eat less move more thing.

Find what motivates you. Clothing was it for me - I bought myself target clothes which really kept me excited. And it's still working - now it excites me to keep fitting into my size 6 clothing!!!

    My thoughts exactly.
