Red face Visualizing Weight Loss for Success - Women's success pictures, FOR women!

Hi! I'm trying to lose weight, and as a web developer, I have an interesting idea. (: I need your help...

So I was thinking last night about how lots of people suggest visualization as a way to motivate yourself to be who you want to be. You visualize yourself enjoying whatever it is (higher productivity, a healthier body, etc), and your unconscious mind helps you get it. That led me to investigate the "Think Yourself Thin" book (which looks great!). This is weird, but I actually downloaded the Sports Illustrated app that shows lots of beautiful, young, skinny women, to help myself visualize what it would look like to thin down a bit.

Anyway, I'm a web developer, and naturally, I thought about building a website. What I'd really like, to help motivate myself and others, is a collection of images of people's success (or even just naturally thin people), but made by women, for women, to encourage each other. It'd be *realistic*, non-sexual pictures of women - not bikini-clad youth meant for men to drool over, but for women to celebrate their healthfulness, and inspire others, too. Women of all ages, races, frames - in their healthy bodies. What do you think? If you guys would be interested in having something like this, does anyone have pictures (or know anyone with pictures) they'd be willing to donate?

Okay, if men are interested, I could do a section on the site for men, too. Though, would men be inclined to look at pictures of other men in a non-sexual way? I'm not sure. (:

A site like you describe already exists www.mybodygallery.com. It describes itself as "What real women look like." People add their photos, weight, height, body type.

I don't have an opinion on the website but you are doing the EXACT right thing to lose. It works, works, works, works, works!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have gone from a size 20 to a size 14/16 in ****2 months***** using visualization, positive affirmations, and letting my subconscious mind do all the heavy lifting. (Well, not just that - I've also eaten well and stayed active.) But the way this weight is melting off cannot be explained solely by my lifestyle.

Think Yourself Thin confirmed what I already knew deep in my heart. I wish EVERYONE would read it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would love to have a way to visualize myself at my ideal weight/size/whatever. Former thin folks have the advantage of knowing what they'll look like...but I've been overweight/obese my whole life. I have no ideal what my ideal weight is or what I'll look like. I just set my goal weight to the highest healthy weight for my height and figured I would go from there.

This is a good one http://theshapeofamother.com/ - mostly about postpartum bodies and it's sister site http://thisisawoman.com/ with less focus on how pregnancy and childbirth affects our bodies.
