Mary - thank you! I know how overwhelming it is when people join here - so many different forums! So many different people and threads! So I try to point people in the right direction when I can.

Jedi - I loved my CSA boxes. I seriously had to learn how to cook so many good things! Also, I'd be getting such a variety, and that was important to not getting bored. Without my boxes, I had the -same- veggies every week... not very exciting. I also gained exposure to a ton of new fruits...mmm

If you need to find one near you, go to Local Harvest

Thank you for the wedding dress compliments! We were so happy that day that I think we would have looked good in potato sacks, but it was nice to have a pretty white dress.

What an inspiration. I am so desperate but no willpower. I have battled this weight for my whole life (I am 52) It makes me sick to see pictures of myself now. I just went on vacation with my daughters and would not let them take any pictures of me. I really need to have somebody to keep me motivated and somebody I can chat with regularly. I am just learning this website and pretty confused. I have yet to figure out the little tracker thingy.
Anyway..you go girl....you are my inspiration.

Janni - You need to keep YOURSELF motivated. That being said...we have plenty of people you can talk to regularly here! Go visit the 100 lb club and meet the gorgeous chickies there.

And if I may offer a word of advice - take the pictures. You'll want them so you can compare when you get to goal! You can do this!

Addisonsmommy - thank you! What a cutie in your avatar...might that be Addison herself?

mandalinn, I just want to tell you that your story has brought tears to my eyes. You are just an inch shorter than I am... our starting weights are the same... Your pictures help me see that this can happen. I can do this. It's an attainable goal.

I have spent the last four months in limbo due to some circumstances beyond my control, but I refuse - I mean REFUSE - to give up. I started a new plan this week and I'm using it to keep my calories in check... I've also re-acquired a piece of equipment to help me exercise while I can't get to the gym (it really is impossible for me to do so at this time, but when things in LIFE calm down I know I'll go back. I miss it and crave it more than I crave sweets! lol) I've already worked myself sore in two days.

Thank you for giving me a glimpse of the beauty in the journey, and the peace and joy in reaching goal. I look forward to being fit and fabulous this time next year. I know it's going to happen. I can already see it!

Thank you! (((hugs)))

Ekstatica - Of COURSE you can do it - look at what you've done already! You're a weight loss rockstar!

And things DO get in the way (see the knee surgery nightmare. ) but they don't have to derail you. You just keep moving ahead. Congrats on getting back into exercise!

BabyGT and Miss Rocky - thank you!

I never gave ANYTHING up. Do I eat less pastry/baked good/sugary stuff now? Of course. But I still have it, and I have something sweet every day. It is all about moderation, to me.
