  • My husband and me in March of '01. Notice how I'm hiding behind my hubby.

I was probably right around 200 lbs (stayed far away from the scale). My dress was an XL.

My husband and me on November 28, 2006. My first little black dress!

I lost the weight in 2002 and have worked at maintaining since then. My new black dress is a 6! I felt really good in it that night - one of those great moments that make all of the struggling worth it!
  • You look radiant! And like a completely different person! (ever notice how weight loss just takes the years right off? )

    Congratulations!

PS - your arms and shoulders look awesome!
  • Wow! You are so beautiful! He looks happy to be on your arm in all of them, but I think he seems to have a bit of a different smile in the last one.

  • OK What's your story? Is it on here somewhere?
  • Beautiful! You've done amazing work!
  • Karynlee, YOU LOOK FANTASTIC! (nice dress, too!)
  • Gorgeous!!!!
  • You look FANTASTIC!!! It's funny not only did you get smaller, but your dress got skimpier. Very pretty. You look so happy, as you should be. You have much to be proud of!
  • WOW!!!! You literally look YEARS younger!!! And that dress is fab! Awesome job!!
  • Stunning. Your husband should be very happy to have you on his arm! It is simply amazing how much younger and radiant you look, not that you were chopped liver before! Congrats!

  • Hi, Meg!! Thanks so much!!

You all are so nice! Your words are incredibly wonderful - I really appreciate everything you said. I thought it would be fun to compare my two black dresses. I still have the other one - held onto it for some reason. It's sort of a reminder of a lifestyle I never want to go back to.

Carol, I had to dig a little to find my story. I introduced myself in the maintainer's forum a couple of years ago. It's on page 3 of this thread:

Maintenance is a constant evolution (at least for me), so some things have changed a little since I introduced myself here at 3FC. I still weigh every day and plan out my meals every morning. I've been exercising mostly at home lately 5-6 times a week - I still love The Firm, but I've added quite a few other workout DVDs to my collection to keep things interesting and fun. I count calories and use my Fitday software all the time, but I also decided to join Weight Watchers for the accountability. I didn't lose the weight with WW, but I'm finding their program (and weekly weigh-ins) are helpful in my efforts to stay on track.

I'm approaching my 5th year after the "big loss," but I still struggle FER SURE. I tend to gain weight during the holidays and the summer and then spend the rest of the year trying to get back to my maintenance range. It's such a roller coaster sometimes that I have a really hard time calling myself a maintainer. But, the wonderful gals in the maintainer's forum make me feel welcome and the support and information there is pretty awesome. I'm in my range right now and feeling confident and I think visiting that forum regularly has been key for me.

    Thanks again!
  • You look great...sharp and chic! Now that you are so slim, your husband looks bigger. Also, your husband is a man that knows how to dress! Very debonair!
