Thank you all for the incredibly touching compliments. It really is rewarding to know I worked that hard and it paid off.
Honestly, it took me a while because I would gain back what I lost a lot of times (for example, when I was a freshman in college I gained about twenty back). I would say its been about three years.
I found that my body got used to any one method so I would switch things up whenever I started to plateau. I have done weight watchers off and on. I feel like when I did just that, I was losing numbers on the scale but the clothing didn't feel much different.
Then I tried just "kind of" watching what I ate and working out with a trainer. The numbers didn't change much but clothes felt different.
Sooooo lol.... long story short, after experimenting, I found out what works best for my body which is meals that are lean meats and GOOD carbs. I work out about 2-5 (depending how busy I am) days a week- doing both cardio and strength training.
In short, weight loss is always about the combo of exercise and eating right. However, I think it is important to find what works right for you. If you find you start to plateau doing that, maybe switch it up for a period of time and then return to what was working for you?
Congrats to all of you that have reached goal- and you CAN DO IT to all those that have not yet.
