Wow I can't believe the transformation. You guys look amazing and your story is so inspirational. You are so lucky to have shared this journey with your mom. I only wish I had had the same opportunity before my mother's passing. I am sure it would have made a difference.

Congrats to you both!!

Awesome Job!
My mom and I started counting calories together and she would like for me to keep her on track! I hope we have the same results as your mother and you did.
Thanks for posting such an inspirational post.

Hi Everyone, I'm the Mom of h0cusp0kus (aka Rachael) who put our post on losing over 50% of our size on the forum. I know Rachael recently posted some updates to how we did this. I thought I would add a few things of our approach: 1) We utilized some Calorie Counting web sites to ensure that we were eating about 1,000 to 1,200 calories a day, 2) We severely limited Carbs, 3) Ate LOTS of fresh fruit (apples, tangerines, oranges, grapefruit, pears, peaches, strawberries, etc.), 4) Ate LOTS of Green/yellow fresh vegetables (cabbage, zucchini, carrots, squash, green beans, zuccini, cauliflower, onions, Brocalli, etc.), 5) Ate LOTS of Turkey, Chicken, Tuna, other fresh fish. VERY LIMITED on beef and ham, 6) utilized some low calorie frozen dinners such as Lein Cruisine or other such items, 7) I used tomatoes to really fill up when I was hungry (Rachael doesn't like tomatoes), 8) started buying some of the frozen Steam Fresh low calorie vegetables to round out our dinners, 9) I often made egg/vegetable fritatas for breakfast... meaning I'd saute a chopped up bell pepper, or carrot slices, or onion slices, or sliced mushrooms, etc. and pour 2 beaten eggs over the veggie. I'd cook on one side and then flip it over like a pancake, then I'd add a sliced tomato for a breakfast (notice NO bread). We also used NO seasonings ... no butter, no salt, no pepper, no oil, etc. We got used to going straight up plain cooked veggies. When all was said and done, I went from 284 lbs (5 ft. 3 inches) to 107 lbs now. I no longer have high blood pressure and just got approved for the ultimate life insurance - which means I had to prove that I had NO health issues .... They are all gone :-) You CAN DO THIS TOO! I wish all of you the best on your journey. HANG IN THERE!!
