Hi everyone,
I would just like to thank everyone for their kind words and encouragement! My mother and I have been reading over the comments and truly appreciate each and every one of them; they mean so much to as as we have been on this journey for quite awhile now. I'm also sorry it's taken this long for me to post something!
As for how we achieved the results, we basically stuck to a pretty strict diet. We didn't do any specific diet or exercise program. We just stuck to what we knew was healthy (things that come from the earth such as fruits and vegetables, as well as lean meats such as turkey and chicken). We never overindulged either. We did allow ourselves maybe one "cheat" meal every couple of weeks, such as eating out at applebee's, but we generally stuck to the weight watchers portion of the menus. As for fluids, we drank plenty of water, diet tea, and crystal light as well.
To be honest, we never really exercised at all throughout the entire process. Just by dieting alone, we were generally able to lose about 10 lbs. each month. We did, however, become more active as a result of the weight loss. We got out a lot more and did a lot more things because we felt so great.
I hope this helps out a little! Never get discouraged or give up. I know that if my mom and I did it (and I've been overweight my entire life), ANYONE could do it. There is light at the end of the tunnel, and it may be hard to realize initially, but this entire life change will be worth every struggle.
